Hi Welcome to Fixya!
Your hdd is making that sound mainly because it could already be damaged inside. That is also the reason why it is not being detected by the computer.
Same thing happened to me with my 120gb Seagate Barracuda.
Consider in replacing the hard drive on your computer.
Hope this could help!
Have a great day!

This problem can easily be fixed. It is caused by your HDD not being formatted. Go to Start> Right click on "my computer" and select manage from the box that pops up. In the window that pops up then, click on Storage > Disk management on the left hand side. Then right click on the drive you installed, and click format. You should probably format as NTFS.
Can I use the Hitachi
You actually don't need a boot disk for this particular problem. What the computer is telling you with that particular error message is that it is not detecting any kind of operating system on the hard drive it is trying to start from.
If you installed this alongside your current hard drive, it's likely that the boot order is incorrect in the BIOS, and it's trying to load from the blank Hitachi hard drive. Here are the steps to figure it out:
1) Restart the computer.
2) As soon as you do, start pressing the F1, F2 and Del keys repeatedly until the lights on the keyboard flash. (If this doesn't work, there should be a message on the screen that says something like F12 - Menu or something, and you should press that key instead. In 90% of cases it will be either F1, F2 or Del.) This should bring you into a blue text-like screen. This is the computer's BIOS. You will not be able to navigate with the mouse.
3) Using the arrow keys, look through the menus for a Boot Devices, Boot Options or Boot Device Order menu. The location and name of this menu will vary widely based on your computer's motherboard.
4) Once you have located the Boot Options menu, there should be a list of devices. Follow the on-screen instructions to order them as follows: #1 CD/DVD drive, #2 Your regular hard drive, #3 Hitachi Deskstar. Anything else can just go below that if there are more than 3 options.
5) Navigate to the Save and Exit option in the BIOS screen and tell it that you want to save changes, if prompted.
The computer should now restart and access your normal hard drive to boot your computer's operating system, with the Hitachi as a secondary drive. Once you get into the OS, you will need to partition and format the hard drive in order to use the space.
Hope this is helpful!
One of my 7K1000.C drives has extensive but minor
The best way to fix & prevent it would be to move everything off of it and wipe the drive clean and do a full format, not a quick format. The other thing could be, depending on what type of system you have and if its overclocked it can cause data corruption if the Pcie frequency is set above ~110. I have three of these without a single problem, with about 8,200, 8,080, and 5,400 hours on them.

if the hard disk has crashed and the sound when it runs later he failed to be detected by the system, it is difficult to restore the data in it because it was not detected by the computer. The cheapest way is that you replace with only secondhand.
Hi, I have problem here. I just bought Hitachi
The short answer is the drive is having trouble calibrating itself, and should be sent back under warranty for replacement.
There are things you could try to recover the unit, but why risk voiding the warranty only to wind up with a questionable drive afterward?

If you already tried unplugging/reconnecting and/or changing the Sata cable. Then please go to this link and ask for replacement.
