Trying to transfer video to my computer (iMovie
S-Video does not have sound, you will need to run separate audio cables to your sound cards input ports. S-Video is only for the video signal (Chroma and Luminance), there is no provision for sound.

Possible that you will need to format off the hard disc and clean off all the files present. The camcorder seems to hang up as there is some errors occurs on the hard disc. If this wont solve it is possible that some sectors in the hard disc can be faulty.

How do I attach it to the computer so that it will
>I am assuming I do not have the camera hooked up to the computer properly....
Correct.
An analogue camera will require an A/D Converter in between the two.
Many mini DV Cameras can act as the A/D Converter if they have audio & video inputs.
The 8mm camera connects to the Converter with analogue cables and the converter connects to the computer with a firewire cable.
Card error
Please try another card then

Can you pls tell me what error message # 2881
Error message 2881 means that the camcorder can not read the disc. Check to make sure you have the correct disc type. Only DVD-R 4.7GB and DVD-Ram types will work.
If you are using the correct disk type, then you can try this: Eject the disk and if it it empty just open the cd door. With the lens to the left and the door on the top. look into the device. You will see to the left side a metal platform that houses the dvd laser. take and push the platform all the way to the left. Sometimes the platform fails to retract, so once you do this it may clear the issue. .
Good luck and thank you for using FixYa! We would sure appreciate a 4 "thumbs-up" rating for this FREE answer. Happy holidays!
I just recently upgraded my PC to window's 7.
Try uninstalling the Camcorder's software and reinstalling, that way the drivers and updates needed for Windows 7 are insured on the reinstall.
Hope this works.

I put in a new
sometimes there is nothing wrong with the camera, it is the disks themselves that can cause that error. I always use memorex or verbatim for disks, and there has never been an issue with them. some of the lower priced disk, like sandisk and lg disks sometimes have an encoding error in manufacture that causes the drives to not read them.

How can i get mini dvd to play on dvd player
Hi,
Make sure that MiniDVD has been finalized in camcorder then it can be playback in any other DVD Player.
Finalize option would be available in camcorder dvd setup menu, select it to finalize recorded mini dvd disc, please note UnFinalized mini dvd disc will only playback in camcorder because of its raw data and Finalization will validate this raw data so other dvd players will recognize this mini dvd disc for playback.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.
