I am using an sd
Sorry, but as far as I know, Hitachi camcorders cannot record video directly onto an SD card. You have to set the camcorder to DVD. It can only record video and pictures on a DVD, and only pictures on an SD card.

I had the same problem - you are (as I was) turning off the camera too soon after you hit the stop button after recording a scene. Wait until the word "disc access" appears (about 5 seconds after you hit the stop button. This "marks" the end of the scene. I just don't know how to edit that scene out or if it will delete it out. I know after finalizing the disc that scene will pause for a while (10 to 20 seconds even) when you watch it through the DVD player to the TV.

How do I find the delete option on my hitachi
Hi! The solution to your problem is Three fold.
First make sure that your Camcorder is in the Disc Navigation mode to be able delete your required scene. When the camcorder is in the play back mode the delete scene won't appear.
The second situation is to check if your scene is not locked because if it is locked you are not able to delete it.
Supposing that your scene is not locked then check what type of DVD disc you have. The discs labelled DVD Ram, DVD+RW, and the Card can be deleted. The DVD-RW can be deleted only when in VR mode and not the VF mode. Other types of discs like the DVD R can not be deleted.
Another way of deleting a scene after it has been recorded on a disc that's not deletable is to transfer the recorded scene to a computer disc and then edit it off.

Once clicked, you need to put the verification numbers on the screen and save to your dekstop.I just find thia comments that I quote:
After getting frustrated trying to get any info from
Hitachi manuals and support, I just decided to try to extract the data
directly from the dvd (fujitsu dvd-r disk). Since my DVD was not
finalized I could not copy the files directly using Windows Explorer, so
I tested several applications and here it's what worked for me: I
downloaded isobuster (www.isobuster.com), and I was able to view the
tracks on the dvd, then I used the "Extract" option to create an image
directly from the faulty dvd and it created a couple of files with the
extension .ibq. I checked these ibq files and two of them were huge, so I
assumed those were my video data. I renamed these files from *.ibq to
*.vob(isobuster has options to extract these "image files", but you need
to register it first...), anyways I tried to open these new vob files
with PowerDVD and they PLAYED JUST FINE :)! Finally I just used a DVD
editor to load the new .vob files and I burnt a new DVD.If this wont work, try with Hitachi
Technical Support; they offered to the Hitachi DVDCAM customers via Email on this website: support.hitachi.ca/EmailHope helps.

Hi Igniscol,
In this case you can try using a direct plug of AV adapter, this will possibly supply appropriate power and hence can help you eject the disc.
If the above solution does not work then press the reset button behind the LCD screen and it should solve the problem.
Hope this helps..:)
