I think its coin Cell bad or PSU bad , not memory. if one stick fails its not that stick if you now are buried in sticks, if all sticks fail in just slot its not memory prob. its power. for sure all original stick fail as one.

ProBook 6550b (NO OS stated, is it WIN7 or Citrix?) or XP, VISTA? (this PC has 4 choice new) fact. we are USA so not much data here on INDIA PC's Consider some facts: learn that all PCs are junk boxes.!! that is right,(for 99% of world) by bad design. since you are here and not at HP.com my guess. is you cant get it fixed? (in PC repair shop) why not just tell what you do exactly and then the bad effects. what audio are you playing,??? files (like MP3) windows sounds. what video's we cant guess this nor the formats (100s) is it store bought DVD>? is it a video filie is it online video streaming like netflix or youtube. what? we can not know what you are doing unless stated. clearly. why not do simple things first like playing MP3 file using windows, media player. get any MP3, play it, more simple.? does the CP control, selected SOUND ) (CP = control panel) then tab to SOUNDS then click default beep, and test.? sound ok? repeat 10 times, ok now. if not make sure there is only one sound chip in system not 2, like inside chip inside pc, and one outside say USB headphones. unplug all USB devices, sounds work now.? look is CP+ DM device manger, for sound chips with errors. down grading the HP software was a bad move. sorry. why not use the corrrect drivers off HP.com why not? or even reload the OS. using HP way. there can be many CAUSES OF failed sounds, buzzzzz ill not go to video, due to sounds bad , is first. did you try using ear buds in the speaker phone jack to see if the buds sound ok>? (as opposed to the speakers ) 1: not using HP drivers from HP.com 2: virus infected. 3: sound chips bad, (very very rare) 4: kids stuck sharp objects into speakers, wrecking them, try buds yet? 5: windows 7 corrupted, run "SFC scannow"? 6: 2 sound chips trying both both run same time (with head phones uSB) 7: PC is overeloaded, and running so slow it cant run sound correctly by having too many startup fails running, clean them out. your tech can do this, step by step.... let him?/her?

my guess is lost wifi is the #1 issue world wide on 1billion + devices after all wifi is problematic. in vast ways, even radio interference (RFI) or too many neighbors using same wifi channels (move) and they collide. i use wired, unless on vacation then wifi, mobile. first off XP is dead and is VIRUS magnet, why run XP? only 1% or less USA PCs now have it, all others were put in landfill or upgraded, a fact. F11 is HPs, recovery partition fresh load, it goes to day 1. state. if fresh XP is not fun to do or fails, or ?then.... this MINI came with many optional wifi chips. 2 used in USA, more outside usa. we cant guess yours, you never said what the DM shows for the chips name.,? Broadcom? Intel. best way is: (clean XP , LOL) seen here (in DM delete the whole wifi stack)! and reload the correct driver seen below, by NAME. then set up your wifi SSID and password. have you setup your router yet"? and tested it yet? for lots of DHCP addresses, mines set for x.x.x.100 to x.x.x.199 that way you have lots of IPs ready at all times. and set the lease time to max. not 24hr, as some ISP do... make sure other PCs or Cells can use your routers wifi first test it. make sure its working, then make this old XP dog work using 3 steps here , 1-new driver, , 2-no virus(hopeless in XP) then your 3- the correct login credentials. Be sure you inserted the SIM in the proper position. SIM card are sensitive, worn out/cracked/scratched sim can spell trouble. Be sure you have a good sim. Try to test it first to another laptop or a cellphone.Good luckTedmac

XP? we can never guess the OS you run.! what version of loadrunner, there are so many (from v1 to V15 ??????) and not all run on windows 95 to W10. sorry, impossible that. the work around, is use the correct software. for your unstated PC./OS If XP and is infected, like all are, then there is no work around, the fix there is to reinstall the OS, clean. (AND LR and the APP under test) or (long ago cured by OS upgrades) this... Google DLL H3LL, that too is a big problem before VISTA.

Could it be getting too hot somehow? Maybe the fan intake air vents are blocked.

i removed the battery and waited for 3 mins. it says its been resetted to default but still ask for password. is there a default password?? for elitebook 8440p i7

Take out the battery and wait a minute, then put it back and try again.

Two things can affect onboard video unless it's the motherboard itself - cpu and RAM. If you're confident that the CPU is not the problem, and given that you've not had any success after cleaning the heatsink, I'd start by taking out the RAM sticks and trying them one at a time in each of the slots, if it works on both slots then one of the sticks has died and you can just replace it, if both sticks work on one slot but not the other then it's a problem with the slot on the MB and theres not much you can do but go down to one stick. If it turns out it's not the RAM then it's the CPU or the motherboard and with either of those it's going to be a case of having to replace both if they're more than a few years old. Good luck

Please give more details. If your laptop sounds fine without the headphones, and is only sounding bad through the headphones, there could be one of two problems. Most likely, your headphones have a faulty wire or wires, and are not transferring the audio signal to the earpieces. The less likely problem is that the headphone connector is faulty, in which case it will have to be replaced by a qualified technician.
Try the laptop with another pair of headphones and see how that works out.
