Push a bolt or plug into the open end of the pipes and clamp with a hose clip. Fill the tank and see where the fuel is coming from? not told how old the fuel is and can be bad 1+ year old compression good good fuel carb clean. spark good. filters not clogged. electronics speedo or cable driving, no way cable can fail parked at 0mph, but if electronics to not work with dead or weak battery 10vdc is min 12.6vdc is good key off rested. a good battery is first, the bikes generator may not run the biked proper if battery overloads any gen. so batter good is first on bike. Wow, that's a lot of codes! You have codes that I can't find. Number one tip, keep the battery on the bike and on a Battery Tender which keeps it trickle charged. However, does the bike not start? You have a security immobilizer on that model! Removing the battery, or letting it go flat means it needs resetting. I found this; It was likely PPU 82883. It stands for the electronic Speedometers Pulse Per Unit. The codes prior to that are what are important. Jun 19, 2011

My advice is to take it to a dealer and get it on a scan tool. A CDI / timing issue is my guess. Gaslight staying on is due to faulty fuelguage. I suggest you clean tank, check Guage, check tap, piping etc.

Question edited for clarity. Question moved to correct category. The VRod has an immobilizer. When you disconnect the battery, its memory is lost. Number 1 tip, if you remove the battery, keep power in the system with a battery charger, a battery maintainer, or even a 9 volt MN150 will hold power for 20 minutes. Lack of clutch plate pressure or worn plates will cause that. Purchase the parts you have said are damaged/worn a set of plates and springs then rebuild it and happy biking for a few more years. Follow the procedures as laid down in the workshop manual.
