My 3600G burns orange and carbons-up the contents.

It sounds like you are getting too much gas and not enough air. There should be an on the gas tube to the burner that slides open to adjust the air/gas mixture. Open this at small amounts unitl the burner burns cleaner (blue, yellow and white)

Model 8500L: The gas

Turn the LP Gas tank valve off. Disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes. Reattach the hose to the tank and turn the tank valve on VERY, VERY SLOWLY (I'm talking slow motion, now). Once the tank valve is completely open, light the burner furthest away from the propane tank and turn it to the highest setting. Continue to light any remaining burners the same way.

If it appears you're still not getting gas to the burners, repeat the above procedure again. If that doesn't solve the problem , you'll need to replace the tank hose and regulator assembly. It can be purchased from any home center. like Lowe's or Home Depot. Just be sure to take your old one with you, to get the proper size.

Hope this gets you up and grilling again.

I have a Great Outdoor smoker that won't get hot.

I had the same problem with mine. I took the burner assembly at the knob apart and cleaned it and that worked for me. The grease from the meat dripped down on the gas orifice and hardened reduced the amount of gas being jetted to the burner. Hope this helps
