I need a user manual
Google search your manufacturer make and model and the word manual. If one is available, you can find it in the search results.
Looking for a 4 digit code for GPX tv bought from finger hut three years ago!
Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

How to connect to TV
I take it Y is for Yellow, W is for White, and R is for Red? On the back of the player the R-G-B is for Red-Green-Blue. No you cannot connect these together, the TV has what is called Composite video and the player has what is called Component video. The red and white on the TV is right and left audio, the yellow is video. Some how you would have to combine the red, blue, and green signals form the player in order to connect them to the yellow on the TV.
Broken on/off button
The spring is probably jammed or broken, just grab a small pick tool or something thin and small and pry it out, that should be a temporary fix if not then the front side panel has to be dissasembled and the spring or switch has to be replaced.
Good luck.
