8 flash code is typically a controller fault and there are about 12 sub codes that goes along with that flash code. More than likely you will have to replace the controller.

I don't want to be rude in any way, but I think you can't do this yourself if you have to ask it here. On the other hand, if you are strong enough, have the right tools and you will take the right safety precautions it could go. This link to youtube shows how easy it is to remove the battery pack and place it back. I've not personally replaced my batteries, but I've seen my cousin do it for my Golden Buzzaround XLS-HD and Extreme scooters. There are (at least) 4 very deep holes somewhere in the battery box. I think the holes are on the bottom of box (but I don't recall for sure). He uses a screwdriver with a 12 inch shaft and Philips head. I think it's likely a size #2 Philips head (but I don't know for sure). If it's not #2 then it's #3.There are (at least) 4 screws holding the battery box closed. Remove the screws and then the battery box can be separated into the bottom part where battery is mounted and the top part (the cover).The screwdriver needs a long shaft to reach the screw heads because the screw heads are about 8 to 10 inches deep inside the holes.Also, download a service manual. A service manual is for maintenance by technicians, but is also very useful for DIY people. What you currently have is probably only an owners manual.

It sounds like a relay issue, it may also be the carbon brushes on the motor because you are reversing the motor direction. Phone these people and ask. L.E.D. Flashes 1 time and pauses, 1 time and pauses…. Batteries are low,
scooter will still operate.
L.E.D. Flashes 2 times and pauses, 2 times and pauses…. Batteries are very
low, scooter will not operate.
L.E.D. Flashes 3 times and pauses, 3 times and pauses….Over voltage to
controller.
L.E.D. Flashes 5 times and pauses, 5 times and pauses….Brake is in the
freewheel position or connection to brake is open.
L.E.D. Flashes 6 times and pauses, 6 times and pauses….Paddle or speed
potentiometer problem.
L.E.D. Flashes 7 times and pauses, 7 times and pauses….Paddle or speed
potentiometer problem.
L.E.D. Flashes 8 times and pauses, 8 times and pauses….Motor
disconnected or faulty.
L.E.D. Flashes 9 times and pauses, 9 times and pause….Controller fault.

i would suggest there is either a loose connection or the speed control has failed, the scooter will still run but at a slow speed, the part is fairly standard in all scooters. if i can be any furthur assitance please email me rick @ lxrixta.co.uk (remove the spaces)

the gc 321 has a diagonistic sender built in, go to golden companion.com and down load the owners manuel for it, its free and very helpful, when you 1st turn on the key , you count the times the red lite blinks an it will diagnose your problem, then you look it up in the manuel! also go to monster.com and type in make and model, a set of keys is about $10

The cable for the release lever might be stretched or broken. You have to get the tiller cover off to access it.
