DTC P0740 Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) Enable Solenoid Control Circuit Circuit Description The torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid valve is an electrical device that is used with the torque converter clutch pulse width modulation (TCC PWM) solenoid valve in order to control TCC apply and release. The TCC solenoid valve attaches to the transmission case assembly extending into the pump cover. The TCC solenoid valve receives ignition voltage through the ignition 0 voltage circuit. The powertrain control module (PCM) controls the solenoid by providing the ground path on the TCC solenoid valve control circuit. The PCM monitors the throttle position sensor voltage, the vehicle speed, and other inputs in order to determine when to energize the TCC solenoid valve. When the PCM detects a continuous open, short to ground or short to power in the TCC solenoid valve circuit, then DTC P0740 sets. DTC P0740 is a type B DTC. Check it out on youtube.

I would look for harness damage under the bed since the brake and tails are seperate circuits.

This is the only fuse that I can find that deals with the brake lights, but if that fuse had gone, you would have no throttle. My thought is a bad earth. More ideas here. Your vehicle has a fusible link inline with the battery cable that goes to the back of the alternator.

no year car told, no engine told and is a pure engine/EFI question. a minute not 10second and dies, the dash IMMO lamp must not be unhappy or the engine is immoblizeds in 1 to 10 seconds. most cars or dead totally others. well , there are 50 causes or stalls on all engines we do up to 20 test using 10 or more tools to find real cause. guessing 50 times , no shop does that . can take the line and put in a can of gas it will run????????? HUH? this means test fuel works? sprayed into the intake and runs means it runs for 3seconds on test fueL and stalls/ we cant see your acts there, Impossible. too. here is the order (pure physics Otto cycle gas engine) ASE rules( books/training) engine must be good. (compressing tests pass and test fuel works.) spark must be good. if is test fuel works and and runs for 3 second is all a good sign then last is fuel all above ok testing fuel pressure must be at spec, no car told SO can not look that up. sierra what is it and year. well is engine RPM surging wildly? or see RPM go below 800 RPM ever? (that is wrong) checked all, fuses first, scan the PCM to see if PCM tells you why called DTC errors.oops why not scan first. ??????????????? the lamp doing that is the alternator messing up. or humpty dumpty'd (bad wiring or engine rpm dead wrong way too low) to pull any altenator from any car the battery neg lug is pulled first or blow up the GMC "C" fusible link you will and did.? the PCM runs the ALT INTERNAL REGULATOR SO PCM MUST BE GOOD TO THE 2 PINS ON REAR OF ALT. PIN B AND C C= FIELD DUTY CYCLE B= GEN TURN ON COMMAND FROM PCM. MY GUESS, HUGE FUSE LINK C BLOW TO H3LL SUPER SIMPLE IF RPMS ARE GOOD 800 UP BELOW IS BAD.

1. check fuses
2. scan the pcm for errors (trans)
3. get car serviced. takes tools to fix cars

drive 1,2,3,4 fails at 2>3 shifts means 3 gear dead or 2,3 shift lands on false neutrals or flares 4L60E box I guess. seens true and all E boxes must be scanned, or never learn what's up. ever. ATF LEVELS GOOD ATF NOT LOOK LIKE TAR OR SMELL BURNT. ATF SHOWS METAL DUST IN IT. FILTER IN BOX CLOGGED PUMP PRESSURE LOW.(A/T PUMP) TEST PORTS. SOLENOIDS DEAD.

Check valve cover gaskets.
