When I turn on the oven or broiler, the preheat light blinks but why don't the elements heat?

If heating elements are not working, possibly it is caused by electrical issue. You need to check the wires that lead to the heating element hook-up to the heating element. There could be a bad wire or loose connection that is causing the heating element to not work. You may check this using a voltage meter. See attached illustration below for your reference on the details about where to aim the voltage meter. Please proceed with caution when testing this.

If there is no electrical issue on the heating element, possibly the elements are defective and need a replacement.

GE Profile Series 30 induction cooktop will not heat on left side.

I had the same problem with a GE Profile Series 30 induction cooktop model number PHP9030DJ1BB. The problem was with one of the circuit boards which had blown the top of a capacitor. The good news is that you can buy all three of the circuit boards as an assembly for less than $50 from several online parts houses. The original assembly had been superseded by part number WB27X27843. This part lists for $456.75 on the GE website but many other places sell it for less than $50 for some reason. I purchased one and installed it and it fixed my problem. It is not easy to replace but it is doable. Shut off the circuit breaker, remove the straps holding the cooktop to the cutout, gently push from underneath on a corner to break the top loose from the counter. You will probably need to unwire the conduit then remove the cooktop and turn it over. Remove the screws around the perimeter and lift off the metal cover. Mark the power wires so that you know where they go back and take pictures of things as you go to aid in reassembly. Turn the top over and remove the screws that hold the circuit board assembly in place. I will be necessary to remove a couple of burners in order to access some screws. There are two long oval cutouts filled with white insulation that you can lift up to unscrew the burner wires and control wires from the circuit boards. Again it is a good idea to label them. Remove the circuit board assembly. Remove the fan from the old circuit board assembly and mount it to the new assembly. Install the ring gasket that comes with the new boards and reinstall the new assembly. Plug the wires back into their respective places, reattach the burners and reassemble. If you wish, you can look at all of the capacitors and see if you can find a bulged one which you could replace but for $50 you would probably be better off buying a new assembly. If you want to try replacing the capacitor, it is a 10uf 400 volt can type but if that does not work then you will be without a cooktop for however long it takes to order the circuit board assembly. I got mine at https://www.partselect.com/PS11766885-GE-WB27X27843-INDUCTION-Assembly-KIT.htm GE WB27X27843 INDUCTION Assembly KIT PartSelect

The preheat light flashes on my he range and oven does not heat. I have had the sensor checked and its working. What else could it be?

Most likely the heating element is bad. Disconnect the oven from power. You can open the bottom of your oven to expose the heating element and see if there are any signs of burns or melting. If you can, remove the heating element and use a volt/ohm meter to check "continuity" across the element ... it should be a dead short. While performing this inspection, confirm that the wires and connectors leading to the heating element are intact and connected.

Ge glass stove top my two front burners stay on high no matter if i turn them on different numbers it is a pain cause they are my big burners i can not cook with them cause it would burn food HELP!! Plz.

If it happened on a single burner, I would suggest you replace the controller the knob is attached to. But since it happens on two front burners, a controller or panel connected to both burners needs to be replaced.. I suspect.

Oven racks

I just cleaned my non self cleaning stove; a task I thought would be daunting. I sprayed some oven cleaner in my cold stove, closed the door and left it overnight. The next morning, everything wiped clean VERY easily. I was surprised. then, I had to try to get the oven racks back in...hilarious! I actually stopped trying for a while, and that's how I found this site. Anyway, after 2 breaks of frustrating effort to get the racks back in, I realized I only needed to FLIP THE RACK OVER! The triangles on the front sides of the rack should point up...although it seems as if it should be the opposite. I guess I should have paid attention to what they looked like before I took them out.

Hey, it was pretty funny to me!
