Saludos Franco Dosil
Hello Christian, for the failure that you describe, it would seem to be a problem of power supply, you could have the capacitors swollen, this condition can generate the failure that you comment
If you have technical knowledge, you can replace the swollen capacitors and some other nearby
I send you a video
I hope you can recover the monitor as soon as possible
Greetings Franco Dosil
take to a shop for 29,95 to check. vise 150.00 to check in home. call around some charge more. Its better to know , than guess on that kind a money. age is a factier in repairs.
The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
This is usually a problem on the high voltage board. When you first turn it on, the main board does it's P.O.S.T., then powers the HV board. You'll be hard pressed to find a replacement for it. You MIGHT find someone that can rebuild it, but for the money? Time for an open box special at you local electronics place.
I would go to the Gateway website (http://www.gateway.com/gw/en/US/content/drivers-downloads) and see if your model has a driver update. Drivers Downloads listed for Vista but it should work for Win7-64 bit.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. • If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code Search method to program your remote.
• Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.
This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device.

Hi,
have a look at all the ventilation slots and openings for dust, fluff and other similar obstructions, a slight reduction in cooling airflow can have a dramatic effect on equipment internal temperatures
