Replacement fly wheel airmar DST800

This is an easy fix. You can get a replacement paddlewheel kit at just about any chandlery. If not in stock, they'll certainly be able to order you one. Hope this helps.

Hi Tom! I believe I'd start troubleshooting with the power supply. Disconnect and clean the cable ends with Fluid Film (I swear by this stuff) Check the crimps and make sure they're not loose. Pay special attention to the ground connection. With your temp not reading correctly in addition to your depth rolling, this usually indicates a common fault. (Usually ground.) Check the data cable and socket on the control head for corrosion (again, Fluid Film is your friend) If that doesn't fix your problem, then a "hard boot" or reset of your system might solve the problem(s). Hope this helps you out. Good Luck! -Steve

I am thinking about buying a garmin 451 chartplotter, can I connect this to my garmin 160c fishfinder for sonar capability?

Hi James! According to the owner's manual, the 451 can be used as a fishfinder when connected to a transducer. I would contact Garmin directly to see if the ducer from your 160c is compatible with a 451. If it is, you're in business! You'll likely have to cut/splice cable, but it'd be far easier than replacing the thru-hulls. (The 451 does come with transducers.) It has been my experience that Garmin is REAL good when it comes to answering questions from consumers. Good luck! http://www.garmin.com/us/support/

How do I remove shop demo from my 500c sounder?

Your transducer has to be plugged into the unit. If it does not sense the transducer it will default to demo mode.

Garmin 500c showing fish half a metre down almost continually

I assume that you are using the fish I'd or fish icons on your system. If that is the case your unit is either marking surface clutter and it is a strong enough signal return to fool it into thinking it's marking a fish or the sonar beam is catching the edge of the motor lower unit causing the same response. I would be inclined to think it is surface clutter. Turn the fish id off and read the unit in arch mode. This is more accurate and less likely to mislead you. Also learn to understand the importance of colors in relationship to signal strength if you have not done so already.

How Do I reset a garmin B175L transducer

There is no "reset" for a transducer. It doesn't have internal electronic circuits and no power source. Think of it as an underwater speaker.
