Garmin zumo - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

I just got off the phone with tech support. They have a very complicated fix that involves remote accessing into your computer and editing files, etc. They said it would take over an hour and a half, I declined. The problem apparently is that the nuvi 200/205 can't support canada, but the maps contain canada = problem. and btw, i downloaded "City Navigator Lower 49 States+PR NT 2010.10, Deluxe, Apr 09" and got the same problem. this filename ends in a "B", apparently that's the "fixed one" but acc tech support it's only fixed in the sense that they can waste over an hr w' u fixing it, whereas the older files are unfixable.
I'm just gonna wait til they really fix it and upload those files.

It may be a resistive screen rather than a capacitive screen which is not as sesitive to touch. You may need to use a stylus as it may need slight pressure vs just touch if it is a resistive screen.

It might not be compatible you'll have to find your instruction manual and investigate this

Download and install Garmin Express from Garmin. Plug your GPS into your computer. The software will identify your GPS and allow you to register it, as well as provide any current updates. Install any maps from this process on the device itself.

The 550 relies on the car base for audio as it has no speaker. If the base is not powered up it will not amplify the sound out of the GPS unit, Check the in-line fuse on the power cord, it is usually located in the tip of the cigarette lighter adapter. twist off the tip and this should expose a fuse.
HAve you tried connecting to it with a bluetooth headset, this should work regardless of whether or not it is on the base.

Hello,The microphone input from the Zumo 665 motorcycle mounting cradle is the smaller 2.5mm jack.Be sure to use this one as some microphone jacks will require a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter.The audio output is the 3.5mm jack.Be sure not to confuse the two.It may be necessary to have a custom 5 or 7 pin DIN adapter made to connect between the GW audio system and the Zumo.It would be best to consult with your local Honda GoldWing dealer for more information on interfacing the GW audio system.

You will not be able to calculate a route from the US to Ireland. If you are able to locate POIs in Ireland, that means the map is working.

1. Make a backup of your Zumo by copying all the file to your computer.
2. Using your PC and MapSource select all the maps then send them to a SD memory card need 2Gig or bigger card.
   
3. Try to rename this file to gmapprom.img and replace the same named file in your zumo. (I haven't tried this personally, so if it fails, just replace this with your backup and all will be as it was.)
   
4. If this fails, you can use the SD memory card in your zumo and it will use this map instead, but it will take longer to boot your zumo.
   

I have the same problem. Seems to happen when I get a photobox warning in a tunnel an after that loose satelite connection in the tunnel. This has happened two times at the same place, The only solution I`ve found so far is to take out the battery and start again. Hopfully there will come a software update for this soon!
