Sharpening techniques??
I have been using a bit of edge sharpening lately in combination with smaller & smaller amounts of overall USM. I know Thom Hogan's CD for the S2 had his version as a PS Action and there are others that do the same around. I eventually made my own custom action for it. Can be used most effectively to sharpen an image while leaving noisy areas alone.
CAMERA GOT WET WHEN BTL OF WINE BROKE IN SAME BAG.
Hi,
I am afraid that there is only a small percentage of luck that your camera isn't destroyed. If it was in the bag with the wine for a long time then the wine certainly went into the camera circuits.
What you can do is take it to an electronics service shop and ask them if they could open it, remove the components and clean them with special solutions to remove the sticky wine.
Hope it works.
Video playback problems on pc
Jerky play back on a PC is determined by a few things. Video card memory, RAM, CPU processor speed, and *codec*. VLC has it's own codec so does not rely on the ones supplied by Windows. If even VLC is playing it back choppy, try lowering the video resolution. It may be too high for the video card to handle.
Perhaps you don't have enough RAM to run the file at it's full resolution. Reduce background tasks or close them using the task manager. Upgrade your video card, add more RAM. If you can't add RAM or a video card - either reduce the resolution setting on the camera for next time, or use the HDMI port on the camera to directly playback video to a HDMI device.

Accidentally Formatted SmartMedia card!
You're right.
Formatting in-camera will only reset the two File Allocation Tables, which act as a pointer to where the data really resides.
The data (pictures) should remain safe until they are overwritten (the File Allocation Tables will have been marked to show their positions as being overwriteable).
There are lots of solutions, the most expensive, is to send the card to a data recovery place (I don't know from your profile, where you are, but Fuji UK has a very good data recovery department, for just such a problem).
Another way, is to use data recovery software. These, on the whole, work very well, and vary in price from zero, to a few hundred bucks. I've found little difference in quality between them.
However, the easiest and currently most popular, seems to be F-Recovery...

It is no better than most of the freeware tools out there, it's just easier for a novice to follow.
Camera fault
Check batteries and the terminals that connect to your batteries. Often the contacts get corroded because batteries have acid in them.

My Fuji finepix s20 pro is hooked up to a printer
This question is too old; however, assuming someone with similar question can be informed of the same.
Most cameras (brand/model) will require an associate software for use in tether mode. For Fuji, it would be Fuji Camera Remote application - Fuji-hyper Utility software, Canon EOS - the EOS Utility etc. Without the software, your camera becomes a SD card holder when it is connected to a computer. You can't do anything with it.
(There are exceptions though - for instance, a Sony Cyber shot DSC W30/ W40 future a AV out jack that can project AV on the computer or TV)
