Frigidaire model PLMV178HC control panel replacement

I can't find if there's a difference between model PLMV178HC and PLMV178HCA. Every search for PLMV178HC redirects me to PLMV178HCA. Unless there is grease or moisture on the control circuit board, then you have a shorting membrane keypad. It is repaired by replacing the control panel frame assembly, which comes with a new membrane keypad already attached. For model PLMV178HCA, that is part number 5304470533 and you can get it from Sears online for $89.95 (subject to change). At my Web site, I have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes. (Also, the service manual is here.) If you have any trouble getting the grille off once the screws are removed, slide the hood vent grille to the left about 1/4", then then pull it forward. On some models there are L-shaped clips that fit into a slot to hold bottom of the vent. Be very careful when disconnecting the cables & wires. Some connectors have a locking tab (see photo) Next remove the keypad strip (see photo) Then simply move your circuit board into the new frame. Be careful, because your display tube is made of glass, and if it breaks, the board must be replaced as well. Let me know by e-mail if I can help further. Regards, William E. I have a PLMV178HC Frigidaire

If you end up with a wrong part, the supplier has a very liberal simple return policy. It is repaired by replacing the control panel frame assembly, which comes with a new membrane keypad already attached. For model PLMV178HCA, that is part number 5304470533 and you can get it from Sears online for $89.95 (subject to change). Have frigidaire microwave and. Every time I try to set the clock it goes back to zero's # lfmv164qfa

That model does not apprear to be a valid Frigidaire US model number. Did you try unplugging for about 5 minutes, then plugging it back in and trying it again? It would also be helpful if you could describe in step by step detail what happens. If you need further help, please verify the full model number from the tag / label and contact me via here.

Frigidaire microwave model ffmv164lsa constant beeping, with little symbol to the top left hand side of the clock displaying with the beep.

Hopefully no one sprayed a liquid cleaner directly onto or near the keypad... From page 23 of the owner's manual: "Wipe the microwave oven inside and out with a soft cloth and and warm (not hot) mild detergent solution. Then rinse and wipe completely dry." "Clean the outside surface of the microwave with soap and a clean damp cloth. Dry with a clean soft cloth. To prevent damage to the operating parts of the oven, do not let water seep into any vents or openings." If there is moisture damage, it may dry out by itself if you leave it overnight with the door open. If not, the warranty would be voided and you'd have to arrange for out of warranty service. If there is no moisture damage, and it failed not due to outside forces, then you should contact the manufacturer to arrange warranty service.

When Exhaust button pressed, vent fans not

test the components and fix it. God bless you
  1. Exhaust fan motorIf your exhaust fan motor is not running, there are a couple of things that you can check involving the motor to locate the problem. After removing the fan motor, you can manually attempt to turn the fan blades with your hand. If the fan motor is working properly, the blades should spin effortlessly. If this does not occur and the blades are taught, the motor will need to be replaced. Secondly, the fan motor itself can burn out due to time and usage. Using an ohm meter, the exhaust fan motor should read open for continuity. If it does not, then the fan motor has expired and will need to be replaced.
  2. ThermostatAnother part that could cause the microwave exhaust fan to not work is a faulty thermostat. A thermostat gauges the air temperature, which activates the exhaust fan when required. If this part becomes flawed, the exhaust fan will not energize and the thermostat will need to be replaced.
  3. Main control boardIf your exhaust fan is still not working and the microwave fan motor, wiring, and thermostat are operating accurately, the root cause could be with the main control board. Replace the main control board.

Frigidaire ffct1278ls microwave convection oven combo, the microwave does not heat.

Most likely, it's a failure of some component in the high voltage circuit, or its controlliing device; usually a relay. The most common component to fail is the high voltage rectifier. You can visually inspect it to see if it looks burned. Testing of the other components is more difficult, and can be dangerous if you are unfamiliar with high voltage circuits. Frigidaire microwave key shows a lock and no keys work

Here is a previous answer that might be of help....... The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again. If it is still locked or goes into lock mode by itself, the "clear" key on your keypad may be shorting. Here's how the child lock works on model FMV145: Child Lock-Out You may lock the control panel to prevent the microwave from being accidentally started or used by children. To lock or unlock the controls, press and hold CLEAR/OFF for about three seconds. When the control panel is locked, an "L" will be displayed to the extreme right.

Have to hold microwave door up slightly for it to heat

The door and/or door switch assembly are out of alignment, or something on the latch mechanism is worn. It's probably a repair you could do, but you'd have to get the oven leak tested after the repair. How do you take-out frigidaire over-the-range microwave

If this oven is hung from a cabinet, then there should be two, or more, large screws holding it to the cabinet. There is probably a bracket on the rear wall as well.

When I take one of these down, I find a cardboard box that's just smaller than the space between the oven and the range. Then, when I loosen the screws, it comes to rest nicely on the box. Most ovens pivot down from the rear mounting bracket. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/david_29ad5d1dd86564b0
