I broke a 6" probe off inside my FEF389WFCD electric range. IT IS NOT the Temperature sensor, it is attached to a bare copper wire and comes in through a hole between the light and the broiler.

You claim it isn't a temperature sensor, perhaps because there is a working temperature display? I don't know because I am not familiar with your appliance. From your description I expect it is the thermostat thermocouple that is broken and the bare copper wire is actually a capillary tube. Normally a sealed assembly with the thermostat, when broken the thermostat doesn't shut down the oven.

I do not know how to operate my Frigidaire "Professional" gallery microwave. Every time I try to warm food it is cold.

If your microwave oven stops working then you should get a professional. It could be that the power is cut off by something like a fuse failure. DO NOT tinker with your microwave oven because they can give you VERY NASTY SHOCK. IT WILL MOST DEFINITELY Electricute you. SOLVED My microwave is not heating but the timer is working Microwave

My Frigidaire stove has an element that seems to overheat sometime. What is the reason and what can I do to fix it?

The element that you see has a filament down the middle of it and it usually is packed with a mineral that can handle the heat The filament moves when it heats and can work its way to the edge of the element wall; Replace the element

Oven elements will not operate,

Hi

This means a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

If this has an electronic panel with all the controls they can go bad much more often than the old mechanical ones, ungortunatly you have to buy the whole control panel and replace it when they go bad.

Error code F20

An F20 or FH error code indicates a water supply problem. Here are some common issues:
  • Both hot and cold water must be connected and turned on
  • Water inlet hoses kinked
  • Water inlet valve screen clogged
  • Water pressure less than 10 psi
  • Not using HE High Efficiency detergent
  • Flood-preventing devices that shut off the water to the washer
Are both the hot and cold water faucets turned on? Turn on the water. Check the household faucets to see if the hot and cold water faucets are turned on. Make sure to open both faucets completely for proper fill. NOTE: Both hot and cold water must be connected to the washer supply and turned on. The washer will not properly operate with only one incoming source of water. The water valve inside the machine needs to have the "pressure" from both attached hoses in order for the washer to complete the cycle. If a cold water wash is selected, the washer is designed to add hot water to keep the temperature optimal for cold wash performance (75°F +/-10°).If you want to save energy by not connecting to the hot water line (or only have access to a cold water line if connected in a garage, etc.), purchase a "Y-connector" and an extra inlet hose to connect the hoses to both sides of the water valve. NOTE: If you choose to connect only to cold water, wash performance may be affected. Are the water inlet hoses kinked? Straighten the water inlet hoses. Are the water inlet valve screens on the washer clogged? Turn off the water and remove inlet hoses from the inlet valves in the back of the washer. Inside the inlet valves are screens. Remove any accumulated film or particles from the screens. Reinstall hoses, turn on water, and check for leaks. See the Installation Instructions for details. Is the water pressure less than 10 psi? If the water pressure is too low, the washer may not properly operate. To find out your exact pounds-per-square-inch (psi) value, contact your local water utility company. Are you using HE High Efficiency detergent? Use only HE High Efficiency detergent. Using non-HE detergent, or more than the manufacturer's recommended amount of detergent, can cause excessive suds. The excess suds can prevent the washer from detecting the incoming water. Concentrated detergents labeled 2x and higher will require a small amount of detergent based on load size. Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations. Are you using flood-preventing devices that can shut off the water to the washer? These hoses have a valve inside that will close if the water pressure is higher than two gallons per minute; this will shut off the water to the washer. If one of these hoses becomes loose, the water flow through the hose will increase and close the valve inside the hose, which will shut off water to the washer to prevent a possible leak or flood. If the hose is not loose, try taking the hoses back to the store for a replacement set. CLICK HERE for more information on use of flood safe devices Removing the Error To remove the error display, press Pause/Cancel twice. If Pause/Cancel does not work: Unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute. Plug in the washer or reconnect the power. Re-select the cycle and press Start. NOTES: On some washers, when the washer is started for the first time after this error code, it will begin to drain. You will not be able to pause or cancel the cycle for about 8 minutes while it drains. This is normal. If the error remains on the display, and all of the other conditions above have been checked, call for service. We selected this oven element based on the shape shown and the dimensions given in its .com description. It works perfectly. The oven is a built in so, as you can imagine, I was not anxious to replace it. This element was not advertised as a self cleaning oven element, but it did self clean our oven as well as the original element did. My wife and I are very pleased with this purchase.
