Drain Hole Air Condition

No. You have to make sure when you install it into the window that the end (back) that is outside is slightly lower than the (front) end that goes into the window. That way it drains to the back, over the lip and onto the ground. If you have it at an angle and you are still having a problem then slightly increase the angle. If you drill a hole in the bottom of the unit be careful not to hit any coils or lines. Also make sure you do it at the back of the unit. Again watch the coils. If you hit the coils than you will lose all of the freon and the unit won't cool at all until repaired.

Ac unit keeps resetting

Good Morning Friend, I understand that your Frigidaire air conditioner keeps resetting itself. First, be sure the electrical service is adequate for the model you have chosen. This information can be found on the serial plate, which is located on the side of the cabinet and behind the grille. Secondly, be sure the air conditioner is properly grounded. To minimize shock and fire hazards, proper grounding is important. The power cord is equipped with a three-prong grounding plug for protection against shock hazards. Lastly, your air conditioner must be used in a properly grounded wall receptacle. If the wall receptacle you intend to use is not adequately grounded or protected by a time delay fuse or circuit breaker, have a qualified electrician install the proper receptacle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful. -Best Regards- WP

How do I clean the condensation drain on my Fridgidaire fac127s1a?

Good Morning Friend, I understand you want to know how to clean the condensation drain on your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAC127S1A. I see that the drain seems to be blocked, as water is collecting in the drain pan, and beginning to leak from the front. The drain hole is located beneath the compressor. You would have to get underneath that to clean the drain. You might want to try tilting your air conditioner slightly to the outside, to allow better water drainage. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful. -Best Regards- WP

Why does the unit beep after it is pluged in.

Most new window units have a ground fault circuit. More than likely, the outlet you are using is Not grounded or the Neutral and Hot side are reversed. They make a tester you can purchase at most home improvement stores. I would go buy one and test the outlet. You could have other outlets with the same problem. You have to use a 3 wire outlet. Large side of outlet=neutral, small side of outlet=hot, round or arched hole=earth ground.

Whats wrong when my unit coll good and runs good but when I turn it off the compressor keeps on running

Good Afternoon Friend, I understand the compressor to your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAM187S2A, runs all the time. I also see that no matter what option you put in on, including "OFF", the compressor will stay on, unless you unplug the appliance. There could be a couple different possibilities with this occurring. It could possibly be the switch behind the control board. It could possibly be the control board. It could possibly be something completely separate that is causing the compressor to stay on when you plug your air conditioner in. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine the exact cause. Hope this is helpful. -Best Regards- WP

How do you clean the coils?

Good Morning Friend, I understand you want o know how to remove the coils to clean them on your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAS257S2A. You will not be removing the coils. If you will please start by cleaning the filter like so: • Tilt the panel out by grasping the panel from both sides, just below the controls and the air directional louvers, and gently pull to release. Pivot the panel on its hinge's and remove the filter. • Wash the filter using liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water. Rinse filter thoroughly. Gently shake excess water from the filter. Be sure filter is thoroughly dry before replacing. • Or, instead of washing you may vacuum the filter clean. While you are cleaning the filter, the coils will be located behind the filter area, you can clean them with a vacuum extension. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful. -Best Regards- WP

Why does the unit beep when I plug it in.

Good Morning Tina, I understand that your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAM187S2A, beeps and flashes lights when you first plug it in. First, test the power supply cord by doing the following: 1. Plug in your air conditioner. 2. The power supply cord will have TWO buttons on the plug head. Press the TEST button. You will notice a click as the RESET button pops out. 3. Press the RESET button. Again you will notice a click as the button engages. 4. The power supply cord is now supplying electricity to the unit. (On some products this is also indicated by a light on the plug head) NOTE: • Do not use this device to turn the unit on or off. • Always make sure the RESET button is pushed in for correct operation. • The power supply cord must be replaced if it fails to reset when either the TEST button is pushed, or it cannot be reset. A new one can be obtained from the product manufacturer. • If power supply cord is damaged, it CANNOT be repaired. It MUST be replaced by one obtained from the product manufacturer. NOTE: Some plugs have buttons on the top. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your air conditioner status has changed successfully.
