I think you have hard water. I needed to clean down deep in my pump and use a good brand soap. It gets a food "paper" and needs cleaned out.

connect the drain to the correct disposal pipe

The spray arm needs to be removed to gain access to the filter, once the spray arm has been removed the filter should just lift out.
