Check the internal fuse - usually there for amperage readings.

there are 4 screws at the back. If you have trouble opening unit that simple then maybe you should not be doing it.

it's broken, buy a new one or you can open it up and see if you can find issues in input circuit

specification is given up to 500Hz this is a process meter - not made for frequencies above 500Hz, you need dmm to measure this frequency
