Your chain is stuck on the bearing and not on the gear. Its stuck on the rod holding the gear. See the thing that looks like a bicycle chain that leleads from the pull handle to the black cover next to the fan? Well under that black cover is a gear that holds the bicycle chain. To get to it, you need a screwdriver. Take off the cover and you need to pull the bar vertical to the air and you need to realign the chain. Your welcome! Source: same problem
