Farmall 560 idles fine. Gradually dies when a load is put on?
See adjusting throttle governor...

Read through entire article and first determine how far out of adjustment, stuck, or worn out the governor is. If not stuck or worn out, try adjusting.
Be careful after first start. Be prepared to shut it down immediately if it runs away. Not likely, but it can happen if some gross mistake is made.

I purchased a Farmall Super A it needed a total rewire thought I had a diagram of the wiring, but when I rewired the tractor will not start.
There seems to be plenty of information available online - the wiring is relatively simple and basic, though the 6 volt version with a 4-wire regulator is a little more complex. The 12 volt conversion with a single wire alternator could hardly be simpler.
It seems the ignition is by magneto. Apart from the stop control these units are self contained and if the engine has a good cranking speed and the magneto (and engine) is in good order the engine should start.
The magneto is usually reliable with just the contact breaker points needing periodic attention. When the magneto fails it is a task for a specialist to sort out as a rewind is often needed...

How do I diagnose Farmall Class C starting problems?
take a plug out connect the HT lead to it and ground the body to see if there is a spark
spark ok go to carby
no spark look at ignition switch , wiring coil , distributor , points , condenser
carby , -drain the fuel from the bowl and clean out the main jet
check for fuel from the needle and seat, check that the tap is passing fuel and not corroded inside and the fuel lines are not blocked
How do you free up a govenor on a 66 farmall cub?
Be sure the rod from the governor that attaches to the carburetor is not causing the froze up problem and check throttle shaft on carb. The governor does not give much trouble with freezing up.

1949 M farmall :pto will not engage
When you pull the rod does it fell like anything moves inside the tractor? If not, remove the four bolts holding the pto in the rear frame. Pull out the pto assembly and what you most likely will find is shift lever broke and not shifting the pipe sleeve to spline to the transmission shaft. Pull it out and look.
