A Farberware countertop convection oven,
Ya those are a classic, really made tasty baking with convection heat but think it is old machine. Could be just a bad chord as unit runs about 12 amps. Like space heater, if they loose some connection start to make chord not good. I would look for another. I've seen a China one for around $100, and built-in ovens at Habitate for Humanity retail store with that feature for reasonable. Good to fix but when dealing with high amp points, they will wear out as they do with space heaters often.

Vintage farberware percolator does not stop percolating
There is a thermostat in the bottom of the percolator that is broken. It would normally cut off the percolator heating element after the water reaches a certain temperature. It can be replaced but it takes a little skill. There is a video on eBay.
If you want to just unplug the percolator, time it for 1 minute per cup.
How much coffee per cup?
One tablespoon per cup. Or 2.50z to 3.0oz of coffee for 12 cups depends on your taste
Strong coffee add more coffee or if you like light coffee less coffee.
Don't let the coffee sit for long time in this kind of brewer. More than 30 min. is going to kill the flavor.
How many scoops of coffee
All depends on how you like your coffee, And the size of cups you are using.
The standard is: 64oz. of water and 2oz to 3oz of coffee for 12 cups, That is about 5 to 6oz.of coffee per cup.
If you want a strong cup of coffee use 1.5 gal. of water and 9oz of coffee for 36 cups. If NOT use more water and less coffee.
REMEMBER, Don't let the coffee sit in your coffee brewer for long time.
