My Evolis Primacy Card Printer - Printer status says "Status disabled - printer on-line" and wont let me connect to the printer?

Hi! If your Evolis Primacy Card Printer is showing a status of "Status disabled - printer on-line" and won't let you connect to the printer, there are a few things you can try:
  1. Restart the printer and the computer: Sometimes, simply restarting both the printer and the computer can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off the printer and computer, then turn them back on after a minute or two.
  2. Check the printer's network settings: Make sure the printer is properly connected to the network, and that its IP address and network settings are correct. You can do this by accessing the printer's web interface through a web browser and checking the network settings.
  3. Check the printer driver: Make sure that the printer driver is properly installed on your computer, and that it is the correct driver for your printer model. You can download the latest driver from the Evolis website.
  4. Check the firewall settings: Sometimes, firewall settings can prevent your computer from connecting to the printer. Make sure that the firewall settings on your computer allow communication with the printer.
  5. Check for firmware updates: Check the Evolis website for any firmware updates for your printer model, and if there are any available, install them.
Hope any of these steps may help you. Regards

Hello, i'm trying to reinstall my Evolis but it always stucks saying "printing queue not empty" how can i do?

That message indicates there are unfinished jobs in your Windows print-queue from a previous install. To correct, first disconnect your printer from your PC. Next, go to Windows control panel, then select "Devices and Printers". Locate any instances of your Evolis printer driver, right-click on each, and select the "See What's Printing" option. Clear out any jobs that are present. Repeat this for every instance of your Evolis printer (e.g. - {printer-name}, {printer-name Copy 1}, etc.). Once done, then individually remove every printer instance by right-clicking and selecting "Remove this Device". Once all instances are removed, then try to use the standard Windows program un-install routine to remove the Evolis drivers and/or Evolis Premium Suite (or alternately, Evolis "Print Center"). Once removed, reboot your PC. Once the PC is back up and live, then attempt to reinstall the drivers. And a few pointers on that: (1) always grab the latest driver from www.evolis.com ; (2) make sure the printer is not connected to your PC until the install program requests you to do so, and (3) always use the install program with the Windows "Run as Administrator" option.

My evolis primacy printer not working whenever I tried to print card then it not work no response.and whenever I tried to test print then also it not response as it very urgent

Simple things to check would be to see what the printer status is from within the Evolis Print Center utility. Does it show "Ready"? Or "Offline"? It may be as simple as opening the print queue, clicking the "Printer" menu choice, and ensuring the queue is cleared of all new documents, and that the options for "Pause Printing" and "Use Printer Offline" are not checked. If this isn't helpful, disconnect the printer from your PC, delete any instances of the Evolis Primacy you see in the "Devices & Printers" view, uninstall the Primacy driver using Windows' standard uninstall process, then reboot your PC. Once rebooted, download the current driver from www.evolis.com, install it using Administrative credentials, and only connect the printer when the install program calls for you to do so. If that doesn't restore your functionality, contact your Evolis dealer for further trouble-shooting help. If you're in the USA, we can help. How to fix Evolis Badgy 100 printer that is stuck in what appears to be ribbon advance (fast forward) mode. I cannot get the printer to stop doing this. I have tried removing the ribbon and it just keeps advancing non stop. Help!!

If the printer is trying to advance a ribbon even when one is not loaded, then that sounds like either a ribbon-sensor has gone bad, or the main logic board has gone bad. If the printer is less than 1-year old, then the Evolis warranty should cover you (see https://www.evolis.com/ for more information on how to contact them.) BUT - as you've seen - the Badgy printers are very light duty. If you need something more robust, we offer new and refurbished commercial-grade printers from Evolis (and 6 other manufacturers). There are also generally one or more trade-in promotions running, where your old printer can be used to reduce the acquisition cost of a new model. As authorized dealers for Evolis, Fargo, Datacard, Magicard, Matica, IDP/Smart, Zebra & CIM, we also offer full support and all related supplies. Please let us know if we can help you further. My Evolis Primacy Printer's power button keeps flashing. It is the LCD version and the panel only shows the name Evolis in a faded form. I have completed the cleaning and still the same. Thank you!

Hi Marilyn - when the power light is flashing, and no other lights are on, that usually indicates it is receiving data from your PC. Disconnect the power and data cords from the Primacy, then ensure you have ribbon & cards loaded, and that the card thickness gauge is set appropriately for the card thickness you use (usually 30 mil). Then plug in ONLY the power cord to see if the printer will start normally while disconnected to the PC. If so, go to your PC and clear out the print queue (Control Panel=>Device and Printers=>right-click on the Primacy and select "See what's printing"=>delete all pending jobs). Once done, repeat on any other PC's that have access to the printer. Once all PCs have had their job queues cleared, reconnect the data cord and try again. If this still fails, feel free to contact us for further troubleshooting - we're an authorized Evolis dealer and service center. Good luck! Using a mac with photoshop

In an ideal world, your use of a Mac and Photoshop with the Pebble4 printer would work fine. Unfortunately, you're presumably using a current OSX with a current release of Photoshop, and then attempting to print with a printer that barely supported Mac OSX when it was last manufactured in 2012. From our experience selling/supporting Evolis products since they first were offered in the USA, here's some things to try: 1. Create a 300-dpi .jpg image of your card design. Ensure it is sized as a CR80-card. Render the colors as RGB, rather than YMC. Then attempt to print the .jpg file to the Pebble with a different, more-simple program than PS. (ensure your margins are set to "0" all around (top, bottom, left, right). 2. If that doesn't work - download the cardPresso badge software (free trial) from their web-site. It works on Mac OSX, so you may get better results, as it is designed to work with card printers. Take your .jpg image (from step 1) and set it as your background image on a new card-design in cardPresso and try to print from there. (note you'll see a "cardpresso" watermark across the front of printed cards while using the trial version.). If this works, you can buy a copy of the basic version very inexpensively (particularly when compared to the cost of a Mac or Photoshop). 3. Do you have access to a Windows PC? If so, one with Win7 is preferred. Download and install the Pebble Windows driver, connect the printer, install the cardPresso trial edition (as in #2, above), create a new card with your PS design as the "background" image, and try printing from there. Beyond these options, you have expensive ones, including getting a current-model printer that would be fully supported for the environment in which you're trying to use it.

Evolis Zenius card printer is stuck at the mandatory cleaning cycle. Is there anyway to get around this mandatory cleaning so I can print until the cleaner pack arrives?

The printer should have had 1 cleaning card packed with the driver disk and warranty pamphlet when it arrived new. If you've not used it yet, that's the first thing I'd check. If you have just a few cards to print, you can click through the cleaning warning (unless you've already done this for 200 cards beyond the 1,000-card cleaning requirement?) and continue printing. If your printer is still under warranty, then you should avoid the temptation for other shortcuts or circumventions - the print-head warranty is invalidated if you go beyond the required cleaning interval by too much. A replacement print-head has a list price north of 500 USD - generally not worth the risk if you can hold on a couple of days.

Evolis Primacy printer the top light keeps flashing. If you take the cards out of the printer the light quits flashing

If you're referring to the light just below the power-button light, and it is flashing, that usually indicates the printer is unable to feed a card. But you later indicate that it did feed the card, as it was pulled through and ejected after restarting the printer. Some other things that can be occurring: 1. The Primacy has a low-card indicator/sensor where that light will flash if you have fewer than about 20-25 cards loaded. Fill the hopper and see if the behavior changes. 2. The card not printing/rejecting may be a symptom of your having the driver set for a different ribbon than you have loaded in the printer. Evolis puts the part-numbers on the side of their ribbon cartridges, so make sure you've selected the right one in the driver. 3. You may be out of ribbon. Each ribbon cartridge has a fixed number of prints that it will do. This is electronically controlled and limited through the use of an RFID tag embedded in the ribbon cartridge. For example, a R5F008AAA ribbon is limited to 300 prints. So, while there may be ribbon remaining on the spool, if the ribbon has done 300 prints, it won't allow you to print more and will also act as you describe. 4. There are a number of other potential causes and fixes beyond these most common ones - driver settings, firmware updates, calibration routines, etc. - should the above not resolve the issue. And, if I can get on my soapbox for a moment, you really should establish a good working relationship with an Evolis authorized dealer (like us). These plastic card printers really exist in a technology niche and, as you are seeing, require some specialized knowledge and expertise. Most authorized dealers will provide at least a basic level of support and service via phone for free to their REGULAR CUSTOMERS. That means that if you buy your printer and supplies from them, they're happy to help you out when the need arises. However, if you want to be a do-it-yourself guy, searching the web for the rock-bottom lowest price on your printer and supplies, well ... you get what you pay for.

How do i reset Evolis Primacy to default settings?

Pps;1 will restore the status reporting to normal/factory default state. There does not seem to be a single command to reset all parameters to factory defaults. You find the full printer-command documentation within the printer SDK, available for free download at the manufacturer's web-site.

Evolis Pebble 3 cannot set ribbon type to other than black k - Expert assistance required

Make sure the primary ribbon setting in the driver is on the appropriate setting (graphics tab when accessing via Windows' "Printing preferences". Also, when checking/changing this setting via Windows, be sure your logon ID has Windows Admin rights - standard users are blocked from making driver adjustments. The only other things I can think of, and that we've seen, is that the main logic board on these printers can begin to exhibit erratic behavior with age. The Pebble3 is a VERY old printer, and is fully out of support now by the manufacturer. If it's a failing/failed logic board, it may be time to consider a replacement.

Pebble 4 miss ribon setup from time to time

Sounds like a failed/failing ribbon sensor. Each color ribbon has an embedded RFID tag. The PC/driver requests the ribbon tag info from the printer, and sets the driver according to the reply (R3011-YMCKO, for example). The mono-chrome/black R2011 and R2211 ribbons don't have RFID tags. If the PC/driver requests the ribbon tag info, and gets a response of "none found", then the driver will be set for "K" ribbon. This can also be a fault due to spotty communications with the PC - bad USB cord; USB port; printer logic board issues; etc. Try a different USB cord, port & a different PC to see if the problem will resolve. If not, then it seems the problem is with the printer itself.

Evolis dualys3 printer printing with the ribbon sticking to the card

99.9% of the time when the ribbon sticks to the card when printing, it is due to either poor quality cards, or an attempt to print on a card that has already had an overlay (varnish) applied by a printer. Get yourself a pack of fresh, image-grade PVC cards (they're cheap and readily available) and try printing to them. If the ribbon is still sticking, the other 0.1% of the time it is due to over-temp on the print-head. This can be due to either a wrong AC adapter (they're easy to mix with other office equipment), or brightness/contrast settings too high in the driver.

What is the solution if the printer didn't print?

  • When you try to print from a program like microsoft word, clicking print command it should bring up a print window and there it shows what printer the program will print to before you click print. If there is no printer installed it often shows printing to a file, (instead of printing on paper). Computers need to have a driver installed for that model of printer before it can print. That is done by downloading the install file of that printer for the operating system you are using. I see you seem to be using Evolis Primacy ID Card Printer. If the driver program is not installed, try going to the link below, I found that by searching key words in Google Search.

I keep getting a 'NO ribbon" MESSAGE ,and i have changed the ribbon four times ,using a new ribbon each time, but the problem persists. What should i do to correct this.?

Ok ,# 1 Purchase Electronic Parts Cleaner. Either from Walmart , Micro center, New Egg, Tiger Direct. # 2 Is unplug from whatever Power source it has,#3 Open Unit and remove ribbon assembly,#3 Tilt Unit to Side And Spray Cleaner IN the Unit and Look for the Electric Points where the ribbon Cartridge Makes Contact, Spray this well. I recommend Using A can of Compressed Air after this to Dry and Blow away any other contaminants in the Unit. I would Wait 1 hour after these Procedures to put the unit back together. Then You should Be fine

Hi I got Evolis Pebble 4 and I have problem with printing the ribbon light is always ON and it does not print with YMCKO, but when I change to black ribbon K it prints. What is the problem.

It sounds like your ribbon setting in the printer-driver is set to the R2011 (or R2211) K ribbon. It should be set to R3011 for the full-color YMCKO ribbon. Check by locating the printer in the Windows Devices & Printers view (Win7: Start Button => Devices and Printers; WinXP: Start Button => Printers and Faxes). Locate your Pebble printer; right-click; select "Printing Preferences". Check your ribbon setting here and match to the ribbon that is loaded. NOTE that you can only make changes to this driver setting if you have Windows Admin rights with your Windows log-in ID. If you don't, have your systems administrator assist you with this by logging in with their ID.
