Everlast Boxing - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support
I have just started with kickboxing. And what brand gloves should I buy?
I highly recommend you to go for a branded one. An unknown brand may not last for years. There is a chance of dye coming out and leather splitting after one training session itself. The main brands I would recommend are Hayabusa, Cleto Reyes, Reevo. Only a branded pair of gloves can last longer. Hire for a good martial arts store where you will get best martial arts accessories. Hatashita International at Waterloo, Ontario is the one which I know.
Where can I buy boxing gloves?

How are punching bags sized?
The
width of most punching bags is standard - 14"; however the length varies with
the weight. For example, a 100lb
punching bag will most likely be 48" long, while a 30lb bag may measure to 30"

What is a BOB punching bag made out of?
Both
the base and pillar holding the torso are made from high quality plastic that
is very strong and sturdy. The torso
section is made from rubber. They are
designed to be as lifelike as possible, so usually the torso is made from a

How sturdy is a body punching bag device?
Technically,
you can hit a BOB bag with the same amount of strength you would a traditional
heavy punching bag; however it would defeat the purpose. When you hit as hard as you can your aim is
to develop power, strength and stamina.
These are not the same goals you would be working towards training on a
BOB.

I have been using a punching bag now for 2 weeks and my knuckles are extremely sore. How can I avoid this?
There
are two known ways to avoid knuckle soreness - conditioning and the use of
safety equipment. As far as safety
equipment is concerned, you should always be wearing the proper protective gear
(gloves and hadwraps). You can also opt
to buy some knuckle guards.
Conditioning, on the other hand, requires hand training. Exercises such as knuckle pushups will help
to strengthen your knuckles, wrists and forearms.
