Emptied clogged p-trap after using
hiya:) ok...First dry EVERYTHING up good then fill the sink(s) if you can. if you don't have stoppers then just run the water.then get under the sink.(close as possible) and look closely, using tissue in one hand to blot anything that you think mite be leaking, for the leak. i say this because i think you might be mistaken about the location of the leak as the disposal rarely leaks from the bottom. if it is then it is most likely severely damaged and should not be used, but this very unlikely and would probably also be plainly visible. so if you want to check it again i will be happy to help you further:)

As I ran my disposal, black, dirty water came out.
what you have is a clog in the drain, what your seeing is sludge thats built up in your drain pipe being forced back up into the sink,, you need to get that line snaked out so it flows out rather than back up

Switch either sticks or doesn't
First of all, there shouldn't be any fluid in the tube. This switch works on air pressure that is generated when you push on the sink button. The tubing that came with this is black, did you change the tubing ? If the tubing that is on there has a hole in it or isn't fastened correctly, it wont work properly. Secondly, check your plugs. The insinkerator plug should be in the outlet and your disposal should be pluged into it.
To remove the tube, it just pulls off both ends that its connected to. They are just push on fittings and do not actually have a nut or something to connect it. Get the fluid out of the tube and reinstall.

Do I have to replace
The chrome cannot be repaired cost-effectively, if at all..
You just remove and replace whichever assemblies need changing, with many waste outlets that does effectively mean you replace the entire outlet unless you find that Emerson will supply individual spare parts.

The in-sink erator did not
If this is a unit you have used within the last few days, it may be jammed. You will need to turn off the power to the unit; then examine it to locate & remove the obstructing item. If it is not easily seen and removed, you may need to remove the disposer unit from the sink and examine it more closely.

Underneath the motor is a red reset button. Push up on it to reset. If it clicks, it is the problem. Unit sjould work with wall switch, if not make sure unit is plugged in under sink andno GFCI outlets are tripped.

Does not chop very good
hello,Turn the power off and check inside the disposer. Make sure that the
two metal impellers on the shredder plate can rotate through 360°. If
they are stuck, try tapping the impellers with a wooden tool or utensil
to allow them to swivel freely.then you put it on and you insinkerator will work as normal.
wish you good luck,
take care.

Garbage disposal not grinding food
Is it jammed? If so there was a key that came with it. Look on the bottom of the unit and you will see a hexigon hole ... Use a large alen key or even a screw driver will work to turn it "Backwards" a bit and then turn the power to it.

Disposal does not run. I've turned the appliance
Your disposal unit may be on a GFI protected circuit which has tripped.
If you don't have a GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter) in your kitchen, check your main breaker box since they are often installed there.

Water leaking out the bottome of the disposal.
Check WHERE the water is coming from... tie paper towels around the fittings... at the top of the elbow that comes out of the side of the disposal and points down, just below the compression nut where the vertical part of the elbow enters the P-Trap, below the nut on the other side of the P-Trap, below the nut on the bottom of the elbow where the vertical part of the P-Trap goes horizontal. DRY off the bottom of the cabinet and put a dry paper towel down...
NOW, run the water, get a good flashlight and see exactly where the water is coming from (the paper towels tied around the pipes will help you see which compression fitting is leaking) if the water is not coming from one of the joints, and is coming from the actual disposer housing, that housing may be cracked and need to be replaced. Otherwise, if you can find the compression fitting that is loose and leaking, tighten it. If that doesn't work, you may need to replace the compression ring (plastic washer) which you can buy at any HW store.
