Question edited for a lot more clarity. Question moved from Cameras category. It should be the same as my Seiko. The pull out Crown has two or three positions. Pull crown out to 1st position (sometimes 2nd). Turning one way will alter the date and turning the other way will alter the day. Most automatic watches can be hand wound. The simplest answer is to wear it for a couple of days despite it not running. The everyday motion of your wrist should wind the watch as the mechanism was designed to do. Another method is to grip the watch with the face against the palm of your hand and twist your grip like your turning a door handle. Do this quickly for 30 seconds to a minute and it should give you enough to start the watch. If this doesn't work another solution to try is to push the Crown, (the button you use to correct the time), all the way IN and turn it Clockwise 30 full rotations. This should give you enough to get it going. Your last option is to invest in a "Watch Winder". This is basically a 'Posh' watch box that constantly rotates the watch when your not wearing it to maintain the winding load. Some of these can be reasonably cheap to buy but it is worth buying a decent quality one.

Do you have a model number for this watch? That would help find more information on it. Try this. Don't worry you can't damage the watch by messing with the buttons. Press and hold "Mode" for 3 seconds. One of the digital displays should start to blink. Now press the "Start/Stop" button once. It should do 1 of 2 things. Move the 'blink' to the next number or change the number on that display. If the "Start/Stop" button does one of these the "Reset" button should do the other. Pressing "Mode" again should turn off the blink and go back to the normal display.

Might be a silly answer, but have you tried the thee Elgin site? Also try a Dollar store. They have some very small batteries that I use for my older watches. :-)

I am unsure wha you mean by "fix the pendulum". If you mean it stopped swinging, there are two reasons: first check the battery and contacts. Remember, even a new battery can be bad, which is why new things come with warranties. The other thing is quartz movements usually don't last too long. If the pendulum is not swinging, and is correctly attached to the movement and the battery is good, then the movement has gone bad and you need a new one. Most all clock shops keep quartz movements on hand. If you are a do-it-yourself type, you can get them off the Internet. Be sure to remove the old one first and check how thick the dial is, that's how they sell them by dial thickness.

You can take your watch to your local Walmart and find a matching band and using the little like eye glass screw driver and remove the pins with out bending them and put a new band on
