check for a loose connection on the print stylus. These are very delicate and break easily. Like any thermal stylus, it is only a heater which is very brittle and cracks easily. If you have a volt meter, see if you are getting voltage to the stylus but I believe it was accidentally broken while cleaning, happens all the time.

Is there a "retrieve button"? Usually tracings are downloaded to disc after each EKG.

Please consult the vendor. There seems to be a hardware problem. You yourself can't correct it.
