you can use windows to burn disc but this is for DATA only by click and drag

or you can download some free application software to burn in cd/dvd

You need to download and install an application that burns (copies) data, video or audio onto DVD's. Such as Nero burning software, roxio etc. You can also use Windows Media player to burn audio onto cd's

Your mouse might be bad or you could have a virus or infection that has hijacked your mouse. Boot up into safe mode and see if the mouse is ok. Then download and install MalwareBytes and run a Quick Scan.

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode With Networking option (this will give you internet connectivity) and let it boot up. Safe Mode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this is normal. When it boots up, open your internet browser and download and install MalwareBytes and run a Quick Scan.

When it finishes installing the Gui Interface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version or Decline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run a QUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be in red. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad text document will open up showing you the results. You can close the text document and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTED RESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When it finishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot your machine. If the above steps does not fix the problem: Try another mouse and see if it scrolls.

I think its not with hardware its with your browser and its plugins. If you wanna play web videos you must have installed flash player plugin to your browser. Otherwise it won't play. So now you know what to do.

Bluerays hold about 25Gb of data, DVD's hold 4.7 GB and CD's hold 700Mb data.

you forgot to say DVD movie (2 words) and say store bought real movies and not clones, hacks and RIP's , use real disks first.. Well first off the drive front of tray must be stamped. DVD. your manual told you to do this, read the tray front if DVD is there then it is a DVD drive. and must one and if is, it has a license to PLAY (inside) to play dvd movies. all movies fail or just 1, not told that. if you use explorer ,(local, My PC) there must be files seen there. if not the OS is infected or the driver DVD is missing or wrongsee files below of avg dvd movie real (store real bought) not fake.next and last is load and use VLC. DVDs are encrypted (sort of), and require DVD Player software to be installed (as it contains the decryption algorithms). Install DVD Player software.

Ok here ya go burn a DVD in Vista:
Insert blank disc
Window automatcally comes up click "Burn Files to Disc"
Type a name for the disc
Use Live Disc Format
Click Next--takes a minute to format
After formatting a special disc burning window opens waiting for files; drag them over and your done

Some older computers, like mine, have a maximum memory they can handle. This one happens to be 1 gig, but yours may be less. Do you have an older computer? Yup, you do. As seen here, the maximum supported ram is 256. I'm sorry. Please rate.

Check your display buttons along with the keyboard and mouse, to see if you have any key stuck down, or being pressed. Is there any other devices connected to the emachine that could be causing this behavior?

try hiting f10 when the computer first starts up..usually there is a recovery partition on the hard disk..continually hit f10 or f12

If it's the same then the optical unit is defective and you must replace it.

Download and install VLC, try playing the dvd with this program instead.
