Most dryers have a sensor in the exit/ vent area that will keep it from running if lint has built up on it. This is supposed to prevent a fire from occurring. You may want to check your vent hose and clean out any lint build up there. You also can check the sensors inside the unit. Unplug the dryer, remove the screws holding the back on the unit, and check at the bottom. Most sensors are thermal switches that are either oval or round and are screwed onto the metal at the venting area. These can be taken off and cleaned.If this doesn't fix the problem, then one of the sensors has stopped working and needs to be replaced. Most appliance repair places can check these for you.

I am. Trying to clean a duracraft 1997 but i. Cant get the blade to separate. From the motor
Some of them are not meant to be seperated, if it is, then it should have 2 slots opposite of eachother in the back of the blade where the plastic fan meets the steel rotating bar, or it could just be pressed on and you would have to pull it off with as much equal force all around the circumference of the back of the fan's main part, the entire round part, either way you need at least 3 hands to do the job, so have someone help you or just clean it as good as you can as it is, I don't think it really needs to be that clean aye'? LoL

Is the chuck a know off or threaded chuck. where should i buy a replacement and what should I ask for.
It almost certainly has a #2MT (#2 Morse Taper) drill adapter. Lower the quill and look for a slot on each side of the quill - that's a knockout slot. Insert a steel wedge into the slot and tap the wedge to force the Morse taper apart.
You can buy replacement Morse taper chucks from any number of woodworking or woodturning supply places, or from metalworking supply places, or eBay. You can get them from Grizzly, Packard, Rockler, Enco, Victor, MSC, Grainger... you can buy them through Amazon, you can get them at Sears.
You can buy the assembly as one unit or as two pieces - the chuck and the adapter. If you buy it as two pieces, be sure that the adapter and the chuck have matching tapers - that's usually a Jacobs taper like a #3JT or a #34JT, for example. It's much easier if you buy one matched unit.
You can get keyed chucks, keyless chucks, and automatic chucks with a #2MT shank.
