The fuel pump should be located on the engine and held on by 2 bolts. It will also have several fittings that screw into it or are rubber hose barbs with compression clips. One hose is from the gas tank and the other goes to the carburetor. Disconnect the hoses, but remember which is which. Remove the 2 bolts and pull out the fuel pump. Install the replacement pump, bolt it on making sure the bent arm is below the cam lob in the engine. If it isn't right, I don't think you will be able to bolt it on, so it's fairly fool proof. Then reattach the fuel hoses. The gas tank hose goes to the pump inlet and the carb hose goes to the outlet. Hope this helps.

Not likely to cause the switch to "blow". are you looking for the ignition fuse or relay- they're under the dash or under the hood in the fuse/power distribution box!

Was the speed sensor the only part he changed? Reset the car by unplugging the battery for a few minutes, or you may need to hook a decent diagnostic scanner to it(or get a friend/family member(or any local parts store) to hook up the diagnostic scanner and check it out. Don't worry it's something simple, get your husband to reset the battery and triple check any/all wiring connections related to the sensor he replaced & anything else he may have had to mess with. Seriously, it's something easy, your car is just fine!

The horn fuse won't stop the engine from turning over. Check the battery to make sure it's charged and the cables to make sure they are tight. (even at the starter) Just because the battery has enough power to run the accessories, that doesn't mean it has enough power to start the vehicle.
