What is the problem with this TV?

Final anode cap arcing is the problem to your TV. Just unplug final anode cap from the top of the picture tube bell.[discharge the final anode properly before remote it]. Sometimes LOT {line Output Transformer} might be repalced. Picture of the LOT is attached here. You can see the final anode cap, an attached part to LOT. It is silicone rubber cap, look like a ****** at the end of EHT wire.

My unlock code is 0123, I didn't set it but it works to unlock parental controls

It can be bought from electronic spare part selling shops. Go with the damaged speaker. Let it be in hand as sample. It won't cost more.

No way around this one: someone has to remove and open the unit to see what is wrong--anything from something is inside that does not belong or a mechanism out of position.Many times if opened the discs can be gently moved to clear the jam--in our shop we charge 5 dollars to open and look.

You must have its remote control to select inputs.

Try these codes.[0210 0948] [0092 0896] Where the code is listed as [### ###] the first is for the TV and the second is for the DVD. Otherwise just the one code operates both the TV and the DVD.

Some able to open the unit up would have to look at the mechanism inside to see if something that does not belong inside (coin etc) is jamming the mechanism.The mechanism could be out of alignment or have a damaged or bad part--on a unit like this one if bad likely not worth the cost of a major repair.SD TECH

The laser pickup assembly has failed, to replace the part will be more than it is worth. Far cheaper to replace the player.

Has anyone figured out what the problem is with the ? when you try and play a dvd? It's not a dirty or burned disc. Every disc i use puts the ? on the dvd. Is this tv just junk. Mine only worked for about three months and this started to happen.

You most likely have a problem with the mechanism in the unit or something dealing with the optical pickup--depending on cost of the unit it may be less expensive to just replace it.Most combo units (this is posted as one) only sell (if available) the entire DVD section.

Check the soldering points at the infrared LED of the remote. You have to open to acces this point. If fould loose soldered, resodler that point by applying a little more solder. If it d not help you check the remote control for its infrared emission. YOU can drop in a cleaning disc= could be dirt on the optical pickup inside the unit OR the optical could be bad.

Try TDK lens cleaner?

HelloIf the set reads CD and MP3, and not reads DVD discs only, replace its laser pickup unit. It is faulty.
