The gun constantly exhausts air when connected to
Easy fix if air is leaking out the top of gun. Remove the head and lube with white grease or silicone paste. If orings seem to be loose, order repair kit from dewalt (you can tighten orings by removing the oring and wind a bit of teflon tape in the oring groove). If air is leaking from the trigger, replace the valve. If air is leaking out the bottom where the nail ejects, pull out the cylinger and lube the orings that seal the cylinder to the body of the gun.
How to replace the power cord on my DW849 Buffer
Yes. The ground will be green or yellow-green, the neutral will be white and the hot is black. This is the standard 110-volt wiring scheme. The neutral is either the white wire or the SILVER lug, the hot is either the black wire or the GOLD lug and green is always ground. some power cords have a green and yellow striped wire instead of the solid green. Just be sure to replace each wire with the same color as the one you are removing
My DeWalt D51845 - when you use the sequential
Check this notice and post your question again if you nailer is not part of this recall. Good luck. D51844 & D51845 Recall Notice
Published 06/09/2005 08:49 AM ' Updated 09/29/2011 09:35 AM What is the recall on the D51844 and D51845 about?
The contact trip on some of the nailers may not operate properly, which may permit a nail to be ejected with only trigger actuation.Only nailers with the following date codes are affected:200203, 200204, 200217, 200302, 200304, 200308, 200315, 200325, 200329, 200343, 200403, 200404, 200406, 200407, 200412, 200413, 200415, 200416, 200417 See the link listed below for illustrations & more information regarding the recall.http://www.dewalt.com/us/articles/article.asp?ID=1373
The nail gun began leaking
Piston oring will not cause gun to leak. Most likely the orings between the cylinder and cylinder spacer and orings sealing the cylinder spacer to the body. The cylinder spacer is the white plastic piece visable when you pull off the head. Order the oring kit and replace all the orings in the lower part of the gun. Dewalt used some vinyl orings on the cylinder that failed. The trigger also has orings that will fail. Good idea to order a trigger valve and have it ready( or replace now if the gun is several years old). Good luck and post again if you have question about this gun.
Hey, I'm having trouble with my Dewalt 18ga
For removal of dewalt D51238k trigger valve. Remove the nails.
Remove the pin holding the trigger in place. Then remove two roll pins in the body of the gun just above the trigger (3mm roll pins). With gloved hand, apply air pressure to the gun which will pop out the trigger valve. Use caution because the valve could come out with force. Try with low pessure first, then increase as needed. If you are removing the trigger because the gun will not fire, (only puff of air from trigger area), suspect problem in the head valve instead (usually, trigger valve is bad if air leaks from trigger when you connect air ). Good luck
How does the framing nailer work with a black
Dewalt has two triggers available for their framing nailer. The black trigger (390746-00) is a bump style trigger. While holding the trigger, you will be able to fire a nail by pressing nose against work. This trigger is preferred by most framers because it is much faster. Gray trigger will only allow one nail to be fired. Bumping will not work with the gray trigger. With trigger released, you must place the nose against work then pull trigger to fire. To fire next round, you must release trigger, pull gun off the work, again place nose against work then press trigger. Check dewalt web site for recall information. Some dewalt framers have been recalled for faulty trigger. Good luck with your projects.

Do you have a check engine light??If not, look for a bad vacuum leak on the intake manifold. I do believe on this motor there is a long plastic tube that goes from the back left corner of the motor (if looking at it from the front) from the PCV valve to the front lower center of the intake manifold. There is a 45 degree rubber connector there for that plastic tube to connect to the intake manifold, check it for breaks or leaks, as with all the other vacuum lines and connectors.Fords are SUPER sensitive when it comes to intake manifold absolute pressure.
When I pull triger i only get a click from under
Usually caused by stuck head valve or stuck driver. Remove the head and lube the headvalve with white grease or silicone paste. Pull the driver and lube the cylinder making sure that the driver does not fit too tightly in the cylinder.
I have a fairly new
Usually, a poping sound within the nailer is indication that the driver piston is stuck in place. The "pop" is air pressure entering the cylinder, however cant move the piston. Easy fix. Remove the head and pull out the cylinder and driver. If the driver stays stuck in the nose, loosen screws at nose and remove the driver. Most likely driver is bent (repair or replace as needed, driver sold in kit or seperately). Lube all internal parts with silicone paste lube. Most likely drivers to bend or get stuck is 18 and 22 gauge because they are so thin. Fifteen and sixteen gauge drivers last much longer but cost more. Order two drivers if you are driving nails into hardwood (good to have spare ready to go so you do not have to stop project). On very hard wood, may be good idea to drill a pilot hole part way in to prevent damage to driver. Good luck
FlEAKING AIR AT TOP END
Dewalt framing nailers have several orings made of urethane that lose their capacity to seal over time (gun being used or in storage, orings will fail). Too much or too little oil would not have made much of a difference. If your nailer is a couple or years old, order oring kit and replace the orings that seal the cylinder to cylinder spacer(white plastic between cylinder and body of gun). In the head if the gun there is a stationary headvalve that usually does not fail. On some nailers, too much oil will cause the orings to swell and lock-up(but not leak air). Good luck
