no, but there may be an overload fuse. My guess is that it is part 62 here, but not available. Take it to a DeWalt service centre

It is available here, but is $88. Lot of money to lay out on a guess, which is all the more reason to get it looked at professionally. It may also be the motor windings burned out.

Without inspecting tool, it would be hard to definitely tell what part, I would call Dewalt, they will be glad to help you. You do not want to throw parts at it.

That symptom usually indicates a low voltage issue - not sure how the adapter may affect this, I've never run them with a 20v battery.
Try it with a standard 18v and see if you have the same issue - please comment back with the results, I'm curious.

either not properly closed or latch damaged

Typical cause is low voltage - but can also be a bent driver or something jammed in the nail track.
Is this a finish nailer or framing nailer?

Dewalt Tools &... | 410 views | 0 helpful votes

Either the blades are incorrectly installed causing the head to jam or the safety cover is not installed properly - there is a safety mechanism that locks the cutter head when the cover is removed.

soldering batteries will have them blow up in your face
there are web pages that explain how to make a small spot welder for the job but unless you are electrical savvy, you will probably end up electrocuting your self
Now the fact is OEM battery packs use the cheapest batteries available so if you are rebuilding packs , there are battery shops that are set up for this purpose and they will use better quality batteries in the process
Ask around and you will find such a shop

Yes, if it is not pushing the safety back far enough. Also check for pieces of nails debris in the slave slide.

From your description it sounds like the bearings on the armature seizing up . Mainly the bearing on the bottom towards the pad. I see it a lot . It'll seem ok when turned on but under a load it can stop , slow down , smoke ....I'd start by checking the bearings. If it was the cord power would cut in and out completely. It doesn't have a variable speed switch or any speed sensors on that model. .if you have any questions feel free to ask and give as much detail as possible plz.

reading the user manual reveals that it requires oil before using and regular oiling during use
that is simply attained by disconnecting the air line and putting a few drops of machine oil in the connection and reconnecting the air back up
that oil then lubricates the seals and piston of the machine
do that and it most likely will work again
