Non-starting problem after using vehicle & turning off.

It appears you are willing to throw a few parts at it, and see. Here is one to try. There are 2 engine coolant temperature switches that screw into the block. One controls the fan that cools the radiator in the front. The other is hooked to the computer and tells it what your engine temperature is. Specifically, it tells if the engine is cold or hot. When this sensor fails, it will tell the computer that is engine is cold when it is not, and then the computer will make it so the engine will not start. Sometimes these two sensors are even the same part number. Try replacing that (computer) temperature sensor, it should be cheap. God bless your efforts.

What causes a car not to crank when hot

This is a common symptom (if not the most common symptom) of a failing starter. It will crank when cold and will not crank when engine gets hot. This is a failing condition and eventually won't crank when it's cold either. It's also possible but not nearly as likely that the timing of the motor is too far advanced. When the motor warms up, the timing advances further to a point where the motor is too difficult to crank.

When the battery is good dash lights come on but no start no cranking of starter

Check battery connections, make sure they clean and tight. Often there is enough connection for a light but not good enough to pull high amp starter.

My 99 Subaru GT Outback runs great for 5-6 miles, then loses power. I shut it off, wait 2-3 minutes and it runs great for a while then all over again. New fuel filter already in.

Sounds like it might be related to fuel pressure sensor which can give the same problems as a clogged filter. Since you changed filter, then it probably is fuel pressure issue, fuel pumps have produced these kind of symptoms as well. Check fuel pressure at fuel rail after it stalls and when you try to restart, if no fuel comes out shrader valve, then fuel pressure sensor may be the issue if not the fuel pump itself. Had similar problem on Volvo recently, and most fuel injector cars are the same. If there is no missing or bucking before stalling, it is usually a fuel issue. Is it consistent issue, or random? How do I replace alternater brushs

You don't, usually if the brushes are worn to the point that they need replacement the slip rings that they are in contact with are worn through too, you are better to just replace the alternator.

I have a 1998 Suzuki sidekick. All of a sudden all my coolant was gone and steam was coming out. When I put water in, it came right back out under the motor. how do I determine what the cause is (mayb

need to pour water into it, crawl underneath and see where it is coming out and then change that part. If no water comes out when you do this, start it up, crawl under, and see if it is leaking with it running.

Check your temperature sensors. Do you feel that the engine might be coming too hot? There might be a leak in your cooling system.

Car starts then stops wont run on lpg recon head justinstalled

I'm sorry, but there is just way too much going on with this to try to fix online. You need to either call a shop or get someone who knows what they are doing to look at your vehicle. The only other thing I might suggest is getting a Chilton's manual for your model of vehicle. Come back if you get it narrowed down any.

How to tell if fuel line is frozen starter turns but doesnt crank engine

in extremely cold weather, you may need an engine block heater or lighter weight oil. you can verify that the gas is flowing if you disconnect the main gas line to the injector/carberator, attempt crank, and see whether fuel squirts out or not. if its cold enough to freeze gasoline, it could be cold enough to freeze oil, anyway

Front heater and defroster not working. Backwindow defroster is working. It works for an hour or so on rare occations and that happens when it is warmer outside and when engine is actually in use with

The back window defroster turns off, when it gets to hot (about an hour or so). Unless there is an electric windshield heater, all there is, is the warm air for the front heater. If the car is run on low rpm or mostly downhill, there will be not much warm air being produced since the engine does not warm up. Another possibility is, that the thermostat for the circulation of the radiator cooling fluid does not open, either because the engine is cold or, in case the engine is warm (if the stopped engine, right after driving the car for 5 minutes, can be touched without getting burned, the engine is not getting warm), the thermostat is not working properly, or the car is low on radiator coolant liquid.
