How to change blade
I replaced blades on my planer and now the wood is getting chatter on it, why?
Delta joiner manual #37-190
Go to the Dewalt service website at
http://servicenet.dewalt.com and do a search for your model number in the Find Parts box. Use 37-190 (with the dash) or you'll get a long list of parts. The Type 1 and Type 2 don't list a manual but the Type 3 does. The differences in Types are usually very minor, look that one up and see if it fits your needs for your jointer.
Will not turn on.
I bought one that didn't work, and ended up just buying a new control board assembly for around $75. It was an easy fix that just required a screw driver and about 10 minutes.
Delta tp 305 is sniping wood at both ends , is there a solution to this problem?
With any of these portable planers, the sniping can be a problem that you can minimize. Of course you can use a board longer than you need... but more practically: 1. Take light cuts 2. Make sure your infeed and outfeed tables are at the same height and are parallel to the suface of the machine below the cutter. 3. Provide additional in-feed and out-feed support beyond the little in-feed and out-feed tables to keep your material moving consistently in the same plane from start to finish. you might use support rollers. Take care to get the whole setup adjusted all in one plane. Good luck.
How do you change the cutter bar bearings on a delta 12 inch planer
You are looking at a major disassembly to get at the cutter head bearings, everything is built around the cutter head. The motor drives the cutter head on one end of it and the cutter head drives the rollers at the other end. Most of the components have to be removed to get the cutter head and it's bearings out. You can go to
www.ereplacementparts.com and do a search on your model number for a good breakdown of your planner and see what you need to remove to get at the cutter head and it's bearings.
My jointer not make the wood flat
You might have the outfeed table lower than the blade. If the outfeed table is adjustable, then you can check it easily with a steel ruler. With the Power OFF, lay the steel rule on edge on the outfeed table so that it hangs over the blade. Rotate the blade by hand in the forward direction. The blade just just barely touch the ruler. If the ruler is bumped up and pulled forward by the blade, then this is the problem. If your outfeed table is not adjustable, then you need to adjust your blades. If this is not the problem it may be that your wood is not uniformly dried.
How do i set knifves in wards powr-kraft jointer mod.no. 2508a
Lower the in feed table to keep it clear of your work, hold a straight edge on the out feed table, both sides, adj the knives to just touch the straight edge, both sides the same, all knives set the same, should work like a charm, do not answer the phone while you are doing this. check all jib screws twice to make sure they are tight. Hope this helps.
My outfeed table does not run level with infeed table . How do i adjust?
The most important part of the jointer is that the cutting edge is perfectly level with the out feed table, then, bring up the infeed table, with straight edge on rear, make all adj necessary to get these things lined up flat, not level, but flat, straight, even. Then it will cut perfectly flat and even. no snipes,. Hope this helps.
Re: Delta 6" shopmaster bench
It might seem obvious, and no doubt you've long since resolved this question, but was it possibly a breaker that threw due to an amperage overload on the circuit the jointer was plugged into?
The online manual
(available here) takes pains to make sure the receptacle the jointer's plugged into is well grounded and any extension cords are of sufficient guage.
Assuming all that's in order, I guess you could bypass the switch to check to see if it is in fact at fault. Replacement parts are available from the same link above.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
I have a delta portable planer, model#22-540 type
It is involved so I recommend going to "dewaltservicenet.com" and under manuals on the left hand side type in your model number and it will redirect you to a page so that you can download the owners manual, it is 17 pages long and the area you need is around pages 10-11 which deals with blade changing. REMEMBER to unplug the tool before starting this. Let me know if you need more assistance

Hi,
A bearing that is on the blade shaft is going bad...
It may be difficult to determine which bearing it is and you may be better off replacing both while you have it apart...

My Delta T360 jointer gauges
Check to see if your blades are set to the same depth as per your manual. Also you should only be taking off 1/32" at a time for a true cut.
Delta jointer, where do i find the wrench to
go to Dewaltservicenet.com and with your model number you can download a schematic for this tool and also order the parts online. I tried finding them but there are too many jointers listed in the Delta category.
I have a delta 12 1/2'' portable bench top planer,
Hi David, W/D here.
You have already covered the normal bases, so give this a try. When planing, cut considerably less, and see if the feed improves. It should. You should probably try this on scrap wood to get the feel of it. Measure your wood, then aim to plane no more than 1/16" on the first pass. If successful, try a bit more, say 1/8". Generally speaking, it is better to make multiple passes taking small amounts of material than to try to get it all in one pass. The wood will feed better, with less checking, and give you a better finished product.
Best regards, --W/D--
