Need to know the correct engine size because the Sebring did not have a 3.5 liter engine. In 2004 it came in a 2.4, 2.7 or a 3.0. Maybe you are talking about a Concorde or a Pacifica that did come with a 3.5 liter engine but the cam or camshaft position sensor is in a different location on those vehicles depending on which model you have.

If the problem is with the rear (downstream) sensor, you can replace it by yourself. The downstream O2 sensor will be after the catalytic converter. Simply disconnect the connector and using the socket wrench, take the sensor out. you have a direct short in your trans. If you have a multimeter you can unplug the wiring from your trans and turn the key on and see if you have power coming from the fuse panel if so turn the multimeter to ohms and see if you got a short in your trans,the wires will be grounded to a hot wire if so.maybe this will help.
