There is no video? You can only link it to the post if it is on YouTube, or you can put a text link to a place like DropBox. These machines need professional service every 6 to 12 months, but they don't tell you that when you buy one! The appears to be a few different models of Eletta, they seem to be a series. I see one with a milk tank on the left and another that makes two cups with a flat front. If it is leaking from the milk steam spout, they need soaking in a milk enzyme cleaner because the milk gets baked on inside the tube. If you have already replaced the water sensor and the magnet is functioning properly, there are a few other potential causes for the fill tank light not turning on when the water level is low in your Delonghi Magnifica XS.

Question edited for clarity. You are aware that we are Fixya and not DeLonghi? These machines are problematical in home use, and when they go wrong you just pick them up and take them to the nearest Service Centre. Usually it's a problem with microswich on top of the brewing plunger. If you are able to disassemble the coffeemachine you can change it.

i had this problem, and have now finally figured it out and fixed it. the problem is that there is a solenoid valve sticking. i believe that the valve is used to relieve pressure after using the steam, and it vents the hot water directly to the tray. if you aren't diligent about descaling, or if there are water impurities, or if you use the machine infrequently, or for probably any number of other reasons, the valve can gum up and stick in the "open" position, continuously draining the water directly to the tray.

one easy way i've got my machine to work was to cycle steam on and off a few times, thereby signaling the valve to open/close, and unsticking the valve. you can see if it worked without wasting coffee by initiating a rinse cycle, and seeing if the water correctly comes out of the coffee nozzles.

if that doesn't work, you can disassemble the machine and tap on the valve. it has a square black solenoid ~1" square on top of a brass valve. it is mounted on the same bracket as the u-shaped heater. a few sharp raps on top may free up the valve.

if that doesn't work, remove the valve, and try to blow through it. if the valve is stuck open, air will go right through. hold the valve upright and tap it onto a hard surface (countertop, floor, etc.) try blowing through it again. when the valve is unstuck (and held in its normal operating position), you will not be able to blow through it.

once the valve is unstuck, run your machine through a descale process. that should take care of it.

I had this problem. The door didn't snap when I shut it and it would pop open and stop the brewing. It was an easy 5 minute fix. I removed the drip tray and the black plastic bin where the spent coffee grounds are expelled. With a flashlight I could clearly see 1/4" to 1/2" caked coffee grinds lining the back of the cabinet at its base. This residue kept the bin from seating correctly. Because the bin wasn't all the way back into the cabinet it put pressure on the door and kept it from latching. I cleaned out the buildup with a small spatula and a brush and the door latched perfectly again.

Obviously, this unit has a warranty. Are you packing the coffee too tightly? Run the unit without any coffee and see if the vibration is still there. If it is, get it fixed. If not, modify what you're doing.

I have the same problem with my Delonghi Magnifica, so maybe there is a glitch in the machine..

Try going back to basics to eliminate the obvious and silly stuff. How old is the machine? Coffee machine do get old and wear out. Is there water in the built in supply tank? Yes, I've made that mistake! Is there Coffee in the hopper? Has the waste hopper been emptied? When was it last put through a 'Descale' cycle? If you have removed parts to clean it have they all been refitted correctly? If there is a serious issue most of these types of machine need to be looked at by a specialist repairer as they will have the correct tools and knowledge to fix the issue. A lot of automated coffee machine only have a short lifespan of about 5 years especially if they are used regularly every day. Regular descaling and cleaning can extend this but the machines do eventually wear out and need replacing.

I have ESAM5500 and it shows General Alram. Even if I turn off and on the General alram pops up first. The other key is not functioning. I do not know how to make the reset of memory. So, I just make short circircuit of internal backup battery on control board. (The main power must be discunnected before disassembl)

Thanks MLK! This solved my problem. I went through the groove of the top loader and picked out some loose grinds that were preventing the top lid from closing all the way down.

I have had a few of these machines leak.I pulled off the bottom and found Mr Coffee is using low quality tubing that melts or leaks where it attaches to the heater element that boils the water. I replaced the tubes with higher quality silicone tubing that I bought directly out of China on Ebay and the problem was solved.
