Is there any way to configure the poweredge 6300

From the manual, it says minimum of 128 meg to work, so I assume the problem is with the Linux installation. If the Linux is expecting 512 and does not see it, it probably won't work. Being as you have 4 chips installed, have you tried removing two of the ram chips?

Hi i have connected a floppy disk drive to my Dell

Not sure what "the drive forks" actually means. The floppy drive usually connects via a dedicated connector on the motherboard by a ribbon cable similar to the IDE cables but physically smaller and of course to the power supply. If the drive, the cable and the motherboard is ok it should appear in the bios list ready to be enabled and added to the boot order. If the floppy drive doesn't appear in the list you should refer to the motherboard manual as there might be some jumpers to reset or perhaps it is only suitable for a usb floppy drive. Take the number from the motherboard and do an internet search which should direct you to a place where you can download a manual which will contain all the information you need.

Dell poweredge 1800 has power light flashing but the computer won't turn on

I would start with reseating the RAM and disconnecting and reconnecting motherboard and system connections as there is a chance that something got rattled in shipping. Where was it before it was in Panama? Maybe the power system is different and you might need a different power supply?

Install another cd unit that is recognized by bios so you can install the software. Without that you can do nada! If another known good player is used and it also is not recognized then you have an issue with your CMOS - not a good thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cloned Drive won't boot on Dell 1600SC

If you are using an image made from the IBM and it has a different processor and the board specs are different that can cause the drive not to boot it will act like it is then go into a perpetual boot. I would try to re image it again to insure that is ok on the drive also check the board If one is and AMD and the other an Intel then that would be part of the problem.

Cordial saludo, tengo un servidor DELL PowerEdge

  • Seagate does not supply drivers for SATA drives because hard drives themselves do not require specific device drivers. Operating systems such as Windows XP/2000 may not automatically recognize the SATA controller in the system. This is especially true if the hardware is newer than the operating system.
  • Try ti find the exact driver for another O/S then install it in "compatibility mode" , it may work so

I have a Dell Poweredge

Depending on the RAID setup you have for your server. Best thing to do is search for "Dell Open Manage" software for your server and install it https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=R108443&osCode=WNET&productCode=poweredge-4400. Once installed it will give you all the information about your hardware. you should b able to rebuild RAID with same size drive if previous drive is bad, RAID will build automatically and take a long time to complete,

Does anyone have the diagnostic code key manual corresponding to the A/B/C/D lights on my server tower? I can't find it anywhere online.

What Dell system do you have? The OptiPlex light diagnostics are given here: http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN284978/en . Prior to 2005, they used the ABCD labels. This site, http://www.pctechbytes.com/dell/dell-diagnostic-lights/ , has some of the common codes. As far as I know, the Poweredge 830 didn't use these diagnostic lights. Later, Dell switched to numerically labeled lights. For the T3610 and similar workstations, the lighting codes are given here: http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/SLN288973/en?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04 . For the R200, see http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/SLN293264/ . Scroll to the last section. I hope these help. Otherwise, please post a comment your server model and the light combination that you are seeing. I may be able to assist you with the error code. Cindy Wells
