I have a DCS RGU-305-N gas range. The appliance works beautifully except for the left from & left rear burners that will not ignite. Can anyone provide insight into what the problem may be?

check the control valve e that regulates the gas flow to the burners could be malfunctioning. In addition, check check if the electrodes are aligned properly with the burners and are close enough to create a spark when the gas is turned on

DCS GAS RANGE. No gas to one of the burners.

Question edited for clarity and typos.. Either the jet is fully clogged or the valve is faulty. It is a gas appliance though, so only gas certified technicians can work on them. Call for service. https://www.google.com/search?q=dcs+gas+range+service+manual+pdf ..

We have a DCS 48 inch range and the small oven door is bent. Has burned outside cabinet.

Hi, Please set up an appointment with a handyman with a site like Angi or Home Depot repair services to get an intial diagnostic. You might need to have the whole door replaced as the current oven door is safety hazard. Thank you.

I have an old DCS RGT486GL oven. Broiler igniter is bad and I replaced with a universal igniter part. Igniter glows but does not shut off after broiler is lit. Is this normal?

The part that glows is called the thermocouple and is a safety device. It is normal to glow cherry red. All explained in the link. https://www.google.com/search?q=how+does+a+gas+stove+thermocouple+work ..

The "Heating" light does not

Hello,

yes, the heating light can be changed/replaced. Follow the below procedures;
  1. Look for the manual to determine what size bulb is required. Most use a 40 watt appliance bulb. If you can not find the manual, then buy a bulb to replace it after you take out the old one.
  2. Confirm that the oven is not on. Allow it to cool to room temperature if it has recently been used.
  3. Open the door and use a flashlight to light the area where the bulb is located. Do not put weight on the door itself, but go in at an angle or sideways.
  4. Find the shield or cover over the bulb, gently pull or twist it off. Some glass covers are surrounded by a wire clip or a ring that is screwed in to the back.
  5. Gently remove either the wire clip or ring. Since the cover is most likely glass, be cautious. Unscrew the entire glass cover similar to a jar lid in older versions of ovens. Then repeat process if there is more than one bulb.
I hope the above helps. If not, please let me know.

Good luck.

The electrical features of my DCS 48-inch gas range will not come on. The power is on, however, the red nob lights, the ignitors and the oven lights will not come on. What is the issue?

Did you test the power with a Proximity power tester, or something else in the plug. If it has a direct contact, fused spur, check the fuse in it. Otherwise, something has failed! My research shows there are no internal fuses. Contact the maker direct. https://www.dcsappliances.com/us/help-and-support ..

Dcs RTU 305 has range. Can't get largest front left burner to stop clicking and light bottom stage of burner. I've scoured both with rubbing alcohol. What is the likely problem and how do I fix?

If you can light the burner with a match, then it's most likely burnt on debris blocking/clogging the burner lighter ports (the small ports near the ignitor post.) A small brass (not stainless steel) brush from an auto parts store is aggressive enough to clean away the debris without doing damage. Build up around the ceramic ignitor post can also prevent it sensing a flame and therefore to keep clicking. If it is none of those then the ignitor switch on the burner (behind the knob) is stuck in the "On" position. Sometimes cleaning it will work (the actuator pin on the inside of the switch body, next to the valve stem, is very small and gets clogged with goop easily), but you might have to replace it otherwise.

THE OVEN DOOR POPPED OUT ON THE BOTTOM (HINGE).

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I understand by your post you have a DCS RGS-305 in which the hinge "popped" out, correct ?

I'll address the removal/replacment of the oven door first. These doors are only meant to be taken off with the hinge "locked", as shown here.

1) Fully open the oven door and locate hinge lock lever. After locating the hinge lock lever, pull it to the lock position as shown.

example:

macmarkus_1021.jpg

Pull the oven door up at roughly 45°, and pull the oven door out of its hinge receptacles and away from the unit.

That should address the oven door question. These are meant to come off in a certain manner as I mentioned so if the hinges are not "locked" when the door was pulled off, they will need to be locked before going back on.

Let me know if you have any trouble at that point and for sure I'll assist you. Good luck. If this indeed solves your plroblem please take a moment to rate the assistance here.

If it does not, please let me know and we can go from wherever you're stuck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Dcs gas oven/range, ignitor won't go off after burner or burners are lit

They probably cleaned the stove and in replacing the parts of the burner switched the rings on top of the burner. This happened to me. While they look alike, the round rings, not the flat disks, have to be on the right burner in order for the electron spark to ignite the gas. Good luck.
