you can go to go to the website of the printer and click on support ask in the help box (is there an adjustment procedure for those screws) they are normally set at factory if you can remember where they were its best to try to put back to the original place its a hit and miss on that issue but tech support for that printer should be able to answer that accurately!! I need more information. What system are you using to drive the printer with? If it is a Windows computer it is almost certain to be a faulty/outdated driver.

Have you calibrated the printer with the supplies in it?

You can try a level 2 reset. Level Two Reset - To return the printer to the firmware default settings, and clear all the calibration and adjustment parameters:

1. Turn 'Off' the printer.
2. Turn on the printer, when the three lights turn on press and hold the PAUSE, FEED, and CANCEL Keys; continue to depress the keys until the 'READY' message or Ready light appears.
3. After executing a Level 2 Reset, the media calibration must be performed;

Remove the printer driver and also in server properties. Re-installed it again.

You need to replace the motor and the PSU.

You can get labelling software such as nicelabel or bartender. They will call the info on the excel and print them out.

Try printing a self test from the printer. If that works try a self test from the printer driver. That should help narrow it down to a PC, printer, or software issue.

copy file.txt lpt1 is the command to copy the txt file to the printer, but it must be correctly formatted for the Datamax. I don't know Datamax's programming language, but at first glance that file looks like ZPL to me. If it is ZPL the Datamax can't print it.

Thermal can mean "Direct Thermal" (no ribbon) or "Thermal Transfer" (with ribbon). If you want to print using Direct Thermal labels you need to select Direct Thermal from Media Settings in the Menu accessed from the Control Panel on the front of the printer. Otherwise, the printer sensors will look for a ribbon that is not there, and you will see an error message.

It sounds like the label length is incorrectly specified either in your software or printers parameter settings - when this happens the printers label sensor is aware that it has over-run a label & automatically proceeds to the next gap / label start. Depending on the software you are using, it's also possible that a label field extends beyond the boundary of the label (this could be empty space & not necessarily have any content). Also check that the sensor (usually behind the head) hasn't been adjusted by mistake. If all else fails, check that you label stock has consistent, readable gaps, you can check the output of the label sensor via the printer menu while manually pulling labels through.

you may =have to do a sensor calibration or it may just be that you need to adjust the sensor to the label. 2 types of labels GAP which i a space between the two labels ( they don't touch each other or knotch labels touch each other but there is a small open gap all the way to the Left of the Labels. If GAP move the Green sensor Bar to the middle of Labels. If Knotched move to the LEft where the gap is, hit Feed button it should move one label at a time you may have to adjust slightly

To view or set the IP Address on a Datamax I-4208, use the Front Control Panel on the printer and follow these steps: Press Menu, go to Communications, then NIC Adapter, then IP Address.

Please tell your printer model. If the printer has a touch screen support you can view the ip from network settings option on the printer. You can also see the ip of the printer by connecting it to your computer through a normal cable and going to its properties.
