Danby dehumidifier DDR7009REE about 10 years old, is it worth repairing if the compressor is shot?

No, these are throw away items. It will cost more to repair than getting a new one.

Model Danby dehumidifier DDR70A2GP turns off after 30 sec. It has not been used yet this season to dehumidify clean finished basement. It is very clean and has worked well. Tech support was no help.

i don't know. my generic unit will do similar if i don't have the units moisture level set at a lower number. consider using your lowest setting as a test.

Have Danby dehumidifier, turned on first time this season, fan & all displays worked fine, but compressor never went on. Removed back panel & compressor is very hot.

Be careful. i do not know. set at highest setting and let it run. while running, reduce setting to the lowest over a few minutes. at a lower setting you should be able to tell that the compressor has started. run it for 5 minutes, then unplug your machine. next, feel the cooling coils to see if they are very cold. if they are not cold, your unit needs to be serviced.

Why does my Danby DPAC9006 Portable AC fill up with water so quickly all of a sudden?

ac units work by removing water vapor from the air That accounts for the water that is getting into the collector now if the water volume is increasing , it can be from an increase in humidity of the air portable units have to have an opening ( window or door ) to pass out the hot air and that allows more moisture laden air into the room. Maybe the next unit you get is fixed so that all of the doors and windows can be kept closed

I have attached the hose

Did you punch out (or cut) the plug that the hose connects to? If not, its blocking the water from draining to the hose. Please rate 4 stars if this is helpful. Thanks and good luck! danby dehum-wgxnstrtbjljcxdl1wryefyx-5-0.jpg

Dehumidifier doesn't turn on

The water in your sump pit needs to be no more than 2-3 inches, this is enough to keep your pump happy and make sure it works properly when you need it to. Equally, the pump should start to work when the water level is still 6-7 inches below the level of your floor. https://www.homoq.com/proper-sump-pit-water-level/

My Danby DDR606 runs hot. I have the hose direct drain into the water drain in my basement. What is causing it to get hot?

It's probably running continuously. If so, its either set that way (or for too low humidity) or the unit is undersized for the area / humidity level. Check for sources of humidity that can be controlled otherwise, or add another unit. Please rate 4 stars if this is helpful. My Danby premiere dehumidifier does not kick in.Could a bad compressor be the problem.

Hey Darwin,,,, By dehumidifier.. Do you mean air conditioner.. if so, the issue is more than likely you are low on freon.. have it charged and you should be fine.. If this does not fix the problem, it could be the compressor, the pressure switch or the fuse..

Compressor Works for a while Only On Initial Plug-in

If your machine is equipped with a humidistat it could be faulty and not sensing the humidity level accurately.

Compresser runs, no water is removed

You have a refrigerant charge that is "flashing" in the compressortor "pot" instead of in the evaporator. When it flashes in the evaporator, the latter gets cold and then the air going over it releases its moisture, it collects, and then drips into the pan. If you have not had any work on the unit and have not had anyone mess with the refrigerant charge, it cannot be overcharged so I would assume at this point that there is some sort of obstruction inside the system that is causing the issue. Yeah, take it in for professional evaluation and repair. But if you had someone gas it up, there is too much in there.

I have a danby dehumidifer model number DDR6011R It keeps saying the humidity is only 30..(Which I know it's higher) so the compressor isn't kicking on. Help??

It sounds like the humidistat sensor failed on the unit. You'll need to replace that sensor to be able to get the unit operational again
