Nortel Contivity VPN client?
Nortel Contivity will work with the your D-Link router, however its functionality depends on the authentication type (AH will not work), NAT compatibilty mode, and disabling keep alives on the server. Contact your Network Administrator to find out how your VPN is configured.
Step 1 Verify that you are using the latest version of firmware on your router.
Step 2 Login to the Web Management for your router by entering its IP address (192.168.0.1) in your web browser. The default username is admin, and the password is blank.
Step 3 Click the Advanced Tab to access the Virtual Server Settings. There is a list of pre-defined Virtual Server Rules towards the bottom of the page. Find the IPSec Rule. Click the pen and paper icon to edit its settings. Enable the rule, enter the IP address of the computer attempting to connect to the VPN in the Private IP field, then Apply the changes.
Step 4 Create a new Virtual Server entry. Name the Virtual Server, "NortelVPN". Enter the IP address of the computer attempting to connect to the VPN in the Private IP field. For the Protocol Type, select Both. Enter 9550 for both the Public and Private Ports. Set the Schedule to always, then Apply the settings.
Step 5 Access the Tools Page, then click the Misc button. Disable IPSec Pass-through, then click Apply.
If the VPN Server is properly configured to work with clients behind NAT routers you should be able to connect to the VPN.

Try going to D-Link website for firmware upgrade to this model, Also make sure u download the the firmware for the version of windows you are using. In order to upgrade, the router must be hard wired that is connected directly to your modem as unit will not upgrade using wireless connection.
Hope this helps you!!

How should the D-link be setup to work with
If you want to RECEIVE telephone-calls:
COMCAST ADSL/CABLE modem <---> VONAGE <---> wireless-router
Turn each piece off.
Turn on the COMCAST modem, and wait for its lamps to settle-down to a "steady" pattern.
Turn on the VONAGE router, and wait for its lamps to settle-down to a "steady" pattern.
Turn on the D-link router, and wait for its lamps to settle-down to a "steady" pattern.

You'll have to login to the router configuration page.
First, in Windows Operating System, click on the Start menu, type "cmd" into the search field and press enter.
In the command window that appears, type in "ipconfig/all". If you are on a computer that is connected directly to the router, scroll to the heading that is titled "Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection". If you are connected wirelessly, scroll to the heading titled "Wireless Adapter Local Area Connection".
Find the "Default Gateway" in the correct section and note it.
In your default internet browser, type the Default Gateway address into the address bar and press enter.
You should see a small window come up asking for a username and password. By default the username/password for D-Link routers is admin/admin or admin/blank.
After you successfully login, you can find the section to change the wireless password. Select WPA/WPA2 as the authentication type and enter a passphrase. Be sure to save your changes!
Lastly, to see a list of connected client computers, browse to the status section of the router's configuration page.
