How to test TCP ports on ACS48
It sure is. Use a linux distro with NMAP installed, then do nmap-sT -p- -Pn ***.***.***.*-***, replacing the stars with your ip address, and hyphenating the range you wish to scan across.

Hi, I can not telnet the terminal server ip
Try
telnet
Open <IP Address> <port number>
this way you will know if telnet is working or not as well as whether the connection is being permitted
Port number may not be required depends on your set up

Hi, I have a Cyclades
Well, you don't even have to go to that extreme to recover your root password. Connect to the console port of the TS to your laptop or workstation. Type reboot (as root) and hit Enter. As you watch the boot sequence, pay close attention as you'll need to input characters. Specifically, when you see "Linux PPC Load", press the space bar a couple of times and type out the word single and hit Enter. If you did it in time, you should see a hash (#) prompt without requesting a password. From here, type the command passwd and hit Enter. Choose your password and confirm it. Don't forget to perform a signal_ras hup followed by saveconf to ensure your changes are activated immediately and are saved to flash memory (non-volatile state). From here type reboot again and you should be back in business.
Regards,
John
