Can I replace a 2 terminal solenoid with a 1 terminal ? If so how?
The diagram for the LT1045 shows it has a single control terminal solenoid. If you want to use a two control terminal solenoid, simply jumper one of the two terminals to the solenoid frame (mower chassis). The other terminal goes to the start circuit (Org/Wht).
If the machine has a two terminal solenoid then it's not a factory configuration. If your replacing a two terminal with a one terminal, connect the start circuit (Org/Wht) to the singe control terminal. The opposite side of the coil is bonded internally to the solenoid frame (mower chassis).
The contactor side of the solenoid does not change. One contact connects to the starter motor and the other contact connects to battery positive and a smaller gauge power feed.
Surging engine i have a 46 inch cub cadet that surges at idle.
Surging (governor hunting) at idle is usually a fouled carburetor.
Does it not surge when engine is operated at high speed?
If it is governor hunting at both at high and low speed, then either it has a vacuum leak (unlikely) or contaminated fuel especially when fuel has ethanol. Suggest you drain the fuel from tank(s)and the carburetor fuel bowl. Then try a couple gallons of fresh fuel from a station. Don't use what you may have on hand as it too may be contaminated.
If it only hunts at low speed then less likely it is a fuel problem and the carb low speed circuit has a blockage and will need cleaning.
There is also the possibility of a fault in the safety circuit that kills the engine when PTO enabled but with the governor hunting it's likely a carburetor issue.
2012 cub cadet LGTX 1054 motor bogs down and has very little power when electric PTO is engaged to mower deck.
Kohler SV740This is almost always a combustion issue.Check RC12YC plug gap is 0.030"Running on one cylinder? Disconnect a plug wire and start. Reconnect plug wire and disconnect opposing plug wire. Start. If only running on one cylinder and gap and spark are good then check OHV lash.If missing or poor spark on a cylinder... likely ignition module failure. If starter intermittently stalls (makes 1/2 revolution, pauses, continues), valve lash out of tolerance.Fuel - drain carburetor fuel bowl. Capture fuel and check for water.Check battery voltage while engine running. If less than 13V then charging system failure. If you want to test the PTO when on...remove both spark plugs, switch PTO on. Pull deck belt through but you may not have enough leverage on the PTO pulley, Try rotating the fan side (top) of crank by using both hands flat on the fan, push/pull clockwise. Else a 5/8 socket and bar on the clutch bolt (bottom end of crankshaft) will easily turn the crank/clutch.
