My Craftsman V20 battery powered weed-eater starts and stops after about 3 seconds. How can I fix this?

  • To fix a weed eater that won't start, check the fuel to ensure that you are using the correct gas-to-oil ratio for the weed eater. Then, you have to change the spark plug. After that, replace the fuel filter. Now, you need to review the starting process of the weed eater.

Craftsman DLS3500 I can turn on the blades with the Manual lever and it will come on and cuts grass as long as I'm moving forward, as soon as I let off of the forward pedal it kills the engine?

Likely the unit is detecting a reverse direction. Could be the reverse switch, adjustment, or debris. Try using the ROS position on the ignition switch. If the problem goes away then it is definitely reverse operation related and further diagnosis of reverse detection required.

Tiller will not start. This is a hard one.

Caveats when using starter fluid. The carburetor must not flood the cylinder with fuel. A flooded engine will not fire, even on starter fluid. If you're not sure, pinch off the fuel line and drain the carburetor bowl. Remove the spark plug and pull recoil several times to dry out the cylinder.Remove air filter, set choke full open, spray a short burst of fluid directly into the carb throat. Promptly pull starter.Use a new dry spark plug. If it does not fire, try gapping plug 0.005" shorter and repeat above procedure.Comment for further assistance.

I have a 2014 Craftsman T1600 Riding Mower. I need to know if there is a way to adjust the tension of the deck belt?

Question edited for clarity. I have removed all the information that isn't needed. Question moved from Cars and Trucks. The answer is the same as it was yesterday. All Ride on Mowers have a tensioner for the belt. Some have a spring operated idler pulley, some have bolts you slacken and physically move the drive pulley in tracks. One you have the belt correctly tensioned, you tighten the bolts. Look at the videos

Im looking for a bag for a 1990 craftsman eager 1 chipper vacuum

Finding a specific bag for a 1990 Craftsman Eager 1 chipper vacuum might be challenging due to the age of the machine. However, there are a few options you can explore:
  1. Contact the manufacturer: Reach out to Craftsman directly or visit their website to inquire about replacement parts for older models. Provide them with the model number and any other relevant information to see if they have a compatible bag available.
  2. Check online marketplaces: Search on websites like eBay, Amazon, or other online marketplaces for vintage or used replacement bags. Sometimes, sellers might have discontinued or hard-to-find parts available for older equipment.
  3. Visit local repair shops: Local repair shops that specialize in outdoor power equipment or small engines might have access to vintage or discontinued parts. Visit or call these shops to see if they have a bag that fits your Craftsman Eager 1 chipper vacuum.
  4. Explore generic alternatives: If you are unable to find an exact replacement bag, you can consider generic alternatives. Measure the dimensions of the existing bag or the bag attachment on the machine and search for a similarly sized bag that could fit. Outdoor equipment stores or online retailers that sell replacement bags for chippers or leaf vacuums might have options that could work.
Remember to double-check the compatibility of any replacement bag you find to ensure it will fit your specific model.

Craftsman T1200 Mower. Which holes do the deck pins go in please?

The location of the deck pins on your Craftsman T1200 riding lawn mower may vary depending on the specific model and year of your mower. However, here are some general steps you can follow to identify the correct location of the deck pins: 1. Examine the deck and the mower: Look for any markings or labels on the deck that indicate the location of the deck pins. Some mowers may have a decal on the deck that shows the correct placement of the pins. 2. Check the owner's manual: Refer to your owner's manual for specific instructions on how to install the deck and where the pins should be located. The manual should have diagrams or pictures that show the correct placement of the deck pins. 3. Use trial and error: If you're unable to find any markings or instructions, you may need to use a process of elimination to identify the correct location for the deck pins. Try inserting the pins in different holes and check to see if the deck is level and secure. If not, try a different combination of holes until the deck is properly secured. Keep in mind that it's important to ensure that the deck is properly installed and secured before operating the mower. If you're unsure about how to install the deck or where the pins should be located, it's best to consult a professional mechanic or contact Craftsman customer support for assistance.

Craftsman Air Compressor. I have to press the reset button on it. Can I stride wire it?

Question edited for clarity. Question moved from Misc to correct category. By 'stride wire', do you mean just short across the switch? Yes you can but really you need to fix the problem. You know these things can blow up and spray shrapnel 30 feet? Google Craftsman (model) parts You may have a short in the motor, in which case, shorting it out won't fix it. https://www.google.com/search?q=Craftsman+Air+Compressor.+I+have+to+press+the+reset+button+on+it
