Compaq Televison & Video - Popular Questions, Answers, Tips & Manuals

Hi,

I think it would be better if you decide if you want to change your keyboard or not. If you decide that you want to change the keyboard and have it replace by yourself you can go to this site, check if the part is available or not and order it if ever.

Hope it helps.

Yes you can. Just get a usb mouse. You can use both wired or wireless. It's plug and play.

The error message is correct. Windows 7 is not backwards compatible with certain graphics adapters requiring DirectX support higher than 8.0.
You should attempt first to install the proper driver for your graphics adapter from the manufacturer, and if that does not fix the issue, you should either install a new graphics adapter, or revert back to Windows XP.

If you're referring to the yellow "splats" in device manager, those are because the computer recognizes the device, but no drivers are installed. You need to go to the Compaq website support section and download the drivers that correspond to the devices in question :)

Your TV is "going off" because the power supply is failing.

Unless you fix it yourself, likely not. There are probably bad capacitors on the power supply board. I assume that the warranty is long since expired...

There are several power adapters for the Durabrand PDV-709 portable DVD player. Amazon has two that I found quickly https://www.amazon.com/MyVolts-adaptor-compatible-Durabrand-PDV-709/dp/B00GQV4XF0 and https://www.amazon.com/KHOI1971-DURABRAND-DPX3290L-Portable-adapter/dp/B003KWDD7W . These are not Durabrand labeled but they are compatible with your DVD player.

I hope this helps.

The power board controls the back lights. The issue appears to be related to that. However it could be the LED back lights are having an intermittent failure, if that is the case, replacing the power board wont help. Troubleshooting the LEDS when they are intermittent is a problem, you could replace the LED strips and see if that helps and if it does not then you replace the power board https://www.shopjimmy.com/vizio-0500-0605-1140-power-supply-for-d65-e0.htm

No polarity. It's AC, not DC. The capacitor is a "non-polar" type.

Use code search on your URC to find something that works. If a search through all codes stored in the URC fails, try a different one.
