Touchscreen not working
You just need to download and install the driver and it should be fine.
Go to www.hp.com and click on support and drivers then check the download drivers button and finally enter in the model in your case TC4200 and this will open a new page. Next select your operating system and you are now at the downloads page.
Download the drivers, save to desktop (its easy to find again then) and then run it and folow the inscreen instructions and reboot if asked to.
You haven't mentioned your operating system so I can't give you any more exact instructions. If you download and install all of the available drivers for your version of windows you can't go wrong. Windows will try to use built in drivers such as the video. These work but the oem driver usually gives you more options and sometimes better performance. The touch driver will either be part of the video or the input drivers dpending on what version of windows.
I need to reset the bios on my Compaq TC1000. I
To flash the BIOS you need to download the BIOS from a link which HP provides.. so contact them and tell them to provide you with the BIOS link..
You need to download the BIOS and install it..
However after removing the RTC battery I would suggest you to hold the notebook power button for 20 secs..
This should remove all the residua power..
I think it will remove the BIOS password...
If it does not work then you could flash the BIOS..
What sayy???

Check to make sure your wireless card is enabled in the BIOS. hit f10 or the toggle switch @ startup. go to Devices in the BIOS and check to make sure both options for your wireless card are turned on. I had this issue with the tc1100 with the 2200bg intel wifi card.

Compaq tc4200, does not have a boot drive, can I attach a USB dev
The TC4200 does boot from a USB device, if you connect the USB device to the system it should detect it right away. You may have to change the boot order/
When you booting and you see the Compaq boot screen press F10 to enter the BIOS
Go into the Advanced Menu, there you will be able to set the boot order.
HP 2710P will not power on!
Try power draining your computer first. remove battery and ac adapter, then press and hold power button for 15-20 sec. Expect no response since there is no power source. After that, try if pc will now turn on. If it still wont, possibly it will be needing a motherboard replacement.
Unmountable_boot_volume
There are 2 possible causes for that error
1 - most likely the hard disk has died. replace it and reinstall.
2 - the file system (even the one on the recovery partition) has been totally corrupted, a full reinstall from an external media is mandatory.
Black screen 3 beeps when i turn it on
Firstly, many of your components are highly sensitive to static shock (the poke you get from touching certain things), so take care to avoid exposing computer's components to this.Try changing your RAM\Memory. Or just remove one stick and then try turning it on. If it works, then the stick you removed is causing the problem. If it still doesn't work right after removing one stick, then take out the other stick of RAM and put back in the one you took out to begin with. If you get it to start, then most likely the stick that you have removed is the cause of the problem.
Try putting the sticks in different slots (one at a time) as well. Sometimes the slots go bad but not the memory. If you tested the RAM and the slots as described above and it still won't come on, then you may have some more severe problems that may require you to have the motherboard replaced in order for it to work right. Such as, the video chip is malfunctioning (this is affixed to the board and not easy to replace, the chipset is burned out (again, affixed to the motherboard), & etc.
Please leave feedback about this solution. Thank you!

Computer
Hi,
- Did you try to connect the battery and leave it for at least 10 hours without using? It may show fully charged but may not be charged.
- There may be power adapter problem. Try using another power adapter or you may have a bad new battery.
Hope this helps.
Disable TC4400 auto rotate
First in Control Panel -> Tablet and Pen Settings, select Display Tab, then click on Change button next to Sequence. I set 1 as Landscape - Primary, then 2-4 as None.
Second, Go to Control Panel -> HP Quick Launch Buttons -> select Preferences tab -> uncheck the checkbox that says, "Enable Automatic Mode Change"
This worked for me!
Want to reinstall OS on compaq tc4200. don't have passwords..
If the BIOS password is set, you'll need to return the device to HP/Compaq to get that reset. Only other option I can think of would be to whip the hard disk out and see if it'll boot from a CD at that point. If that is the case, you could theoretically put the drive in another PC, wipe it completely and then reinstall it. The machine will try to boot from HDD, fail and then boot from CD next.
Hp tc 4400 hard drive enclosure
This sounds interesting. Are you ordering the part from HP? If so, they should be able to provide the part number. Otherwise, you will have to get hold of a repair manual- they have the parts lists. Here is a phone number for HP Support: 800-HP invent.
My HP Compaq tc 4400 tablet screen keeps on

My hp tablet won't move
Hi,
Did you install any software recently? If yes then what type, name etc. Restart and start pressing F8 key on the keyboard to reach the advanced start-up. Enter into safe mode and remove any newly installed software and try again.
Note: If Windows load then you have missed the Advanced start-up scree, try again.
Please let me know how it went and if you are able to load into Safe Mode, first thing to do is back-up your data in case you may need to restore.
Cannot upgrade TC1000 to XP SP3
I'm not sure what your abbreviations mean but the only time I've had a problem with SP3 was down to a poor internet connection and lack of virtual memory on an old machine.
I was able to reset the virtual memory by using the Help files on the PC.
To over come the poor internet connection, I downloaded SP3 and saved it to a USB flash drive.
That way I was able to install having stopped all running processes.
