To install audio / modem drivers, first download and install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (sp32646):

Installing this driver may result in an error. But continue with the following steps to get the audio driver installed correctly.

7. Highlight the network in the available networks window

Double check the SSID (network name)

Why are you worried about this? You are getting a warning that the hard drive is about to die. In your place, I would copy any data I wanted to keep to the desktop and then replace the hard drive. You can then image the original drive to the new one and try the restore again. The Panther\unattend.xml file is created and Windows uses it during the restore process in order to know what to do, copying it from another computer (if you can find one) would probably totally mess up the installation. The reason it cannot be parsed is probably because it was created on a section of the hard drive that has already failed - remember, your hard drive is dying.

No disk drive will read blank disks. Try downloading a free DVD player to see DVD's on it or a codec pack (available free)

I'm having problems locating a manual. Compaq doesn't seem to support the model anymore. Reading a review online, It almost looks like Compaq had an Application control this instead of practical buttons on the front. go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and go to the to top where it says downloads and go to get flash player and download it and install it. restart your computer and then you should be able to see videos in fullscreen

There might be a PC-Card sound card that supports 5.1 or 7.1 sound. Your system as it is won't support it. There might even be a USB sound card.

its not a error, your computer is just slow, try using vlc media player to play a dvd and tell me if it plays better

I had the same problem on my CQ60. HP battery test showed one or more cells not working. After spending about 2 hours talking to some guy in India,or somewhere, he came to the conclusion that my battery was bad. HP sent me a new battery, which fixed the problem.

If the notebook doesn't have a PS/2 port then you would have to use a USB mice, or purchase a PS/2 to USB converter so you can use your old mouse on this notebook
