Bootmgr is compressed
The Windows operating system allows you to compress the files on your drive to conserve disk space. In some situations, this compression process will compress files required for the operating system to boot. Files that are compressed must be decompressed prior to execution. Since the operating system has not loaded, boot files cannot yet be decompressed. In this case, the operating system will fail to load and a "BootMgr is compressed" message will appear. An easy way around this problem is to boot from the Windows DVD, and use the provided interface to access your drive properties and decompress it. Turn on the computer, and insert your Windows DVD. Press a random key on your keyboard once you see the "Press any key..." message. This interrupts booting from the hard drive and forces a boot from the Windows DVD. Click the "Next" button at the bottom of the Windows 7 dialog, and then click the "Repair your Computer" link Below.

This opens a file browser on your screen. Click the "Computer" icon, which is located on the left hand side of the screen. This displays an icon for your disk drive. Right-click your hard drive, and click "Properties. " This opens a Local Disk Properties dialog. Click to deselect the "Compress this drive..." option at the bottom, and then click the "Apply" button. Select the "X" icon to close the file browser window. This takes you back to the Install Windows dialog. Press the "X" icon at the corner of the Install Windows dialog. This opens a cancellation dialog. Select the "Yes" button on this dialog to restart your computer. Hope this helps b>

This is most likely a hardware problem (gpu or screen), did you reinstall the latest drivers for the gpu ? can you connect the laptop to a monitor with a vga cable to test further ? Otherwise it's best to go to the repair shop ?
I downgrade my os vista to xp..but no sound..i already installed the driver but doesnt work
Hello, welcome to Fixya! The sound is not working most likely because you did not download the right driver for the system.Go to the website of your computer, look for download/support or drivers on the homepage. You will be asked to enter your product model number, which is the model number of your computer, eg, Compaq A601..... Select your operating system and proceed for the driver download.Go to Audio driver, you might more than one drivers for audio. Download all the drivers and install them one after the other as one amongst the drivers should work with windows xp.I hope the above information is clear.Good luckWalesarumi.

My laptop is stuck on
Vicky, you haven't indicated whether you went into Safe Mode, as I recommended to you in your last statement,
http://www.fixya.com/support/t10782206-unplugged_let_rest_fewCan't get into Safe Mode?Different approach. Press the Power On button in, and hold it in for a count of 10 seconds. Computer should turn off. Yes, this is different than unplugging the computer from power. Now remove all power to the laptop. Remove the AC adapter (Charger), and Battery. Press the Power On button in, and hold it in for a count of 5 seconds. Let go of the Power On button. Do this same procedure 2 more times.(Watch the Power On LED light, as you perform this procedure. It may light up when you press, and hold the Power On button in the first time, maybe the second time. Should not light up on the third time )This is to clear CMOS Error Codes, and reset BIOS Setup back to the factory default settings.Post back in a Comment.Regards, joecoolvette
