Hey, when you say red screen does this mean it says compaq on it? If it does then you need to do as follows:
Press the two lower buttons (one is defult set to Calendar shortcut, the other to iTask) and the power button simultaneously while soft reseting the ipaq. It should start up. If not contact me, as I might of got the buttons wrong, at [email protected]

Most iPaqs use a small AC Adapter This model will still need an AC Adapter, because it does not draw any current from USB to charge.

The touchscreen may be broken, try hardreset again if it doesn't help contact your dealer or HP for possible repairs.

Man this sucks I've been trying to make it work and it just doesn't seem to be working. I don't get it, why does it work on power supply but not on its own away from the supply. Help.

Try this, take the ipaq off the cradle, turn the ipaq off (if you can), restart the desktop, put the ipaq back in thc cradle, turn the ipaq on, and restart ROM update again.

Try uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling ActiveSync on the host. If you haven't yet upgraded to 3.6, maybe upgrading will clear up the problem.

Have you looked into the Start-Settings-Systems and look for a Self-Test icon ? Normally Self-Test program reside there if it's on the Ipaq!

Yes, I did. Actully for my model it is at the bottom. I used that along with RESET key - which makes 'Hard Reset' - but the same Red screen remains....

Hi, Have you performed a full reset rather than the normal reset? It might help but you will loss any settings you have so be warned. Procedure as follows: 1. Press and hold the two outer buttons on the bottom of your iPAQ. 2. While holding down those buttons, use the stylus to press the reset switch for at least five seconds. The screen will go blank. 3. Connect the iPAQ Pocket PC to the AC adapter. 4. Run through the Setup Wizard to reestablish system and calibration settings. I hope this helps,

I would check your iPAQ to see what operating system is showing. Start -> Settings -> System (Tab on bottom) -> About (icon) this will tell you if its 2000 or 2002. You may have to acquire an older ROM and reflash.

I'm not sure if Pocket PC Explorer is like the full Explorer version, but if you go to the Internet Options Control Panel, select the Advanced Tab, Scroll Down to the Multimedia Options and there are selection options for showing pics, playing sounds, etc. Hopefully, Pocket Explorer is similar and all you need to do is activate the option to show pics. Once Options are selected, they will be remembered (unless hard reset or total loss of battery power), so there is no need to select Options each time iPAQ Backup is used. In the case of hard reset or complete loss of Battery power, the options setting will require resetting.

Which Texas Hold'em are you referring to? There are quite a few of them. A link to it would be helpful. And what version of operating system are you running? And finally have you tried soft-reset the iPAQ and see if the game works? By the way, please don't post in all capital letters. It's not that big of a deal, but many people equate it with shouting, to me it's just harder to read.

Go To START > PROGRAMS > FILE EXPLORER Use File Explorer to navigate to My Device\Windows\Start Menu\Programs and delete the icon from there. - click and hold and then you'll see the DELETE command.

Yes. Storing the backup image file to iPAQ File Store or to a storage card is an easy method to recover when having to hard reset the unit.
